Rob’s Double Edged Sword (Med. But Very Significant)

For almost ten years I have been making the effort to speak the words of Christ, not knowing beforehand who to speak to or how, not fearing the loss of my stature, but to do so with unwearyingness. In those ten years I have learned much about my approach, such that the lions share of my conversations have been limited to this blog, yet my personal ministry has been greatly encouraged, …despite its weak reception. However, the choices that are on our doorstep today require that you understanding that the words of Christ spoken in this personal ministry, to this small audience, is a Double Edged Sword!

The Edge of Protection: The first edge of a double edged sword brings the blessings of protection when what is offered is well received. I have written over three hundred and fifty blogs, all pointing to the words of Christ as a compass (wordcompass). I mentioned other sources, but only as a tool to point to the words of Christ. I have been true to the title of this blog and its original intent, which is to speak to my family concerning the urgent need to preserve our families language. I recommended each of us study the words of Christ for our language to be preserved. The offer of protection was stated in each blog, and it followed the scripture pointing to using the words of Christ as a Liahona:

Alma 37:43-45

43. And now, my son, I would that ye should understand that these things are not without a shadow; for as our fathers were slothful to give heed to this compass (now these things were temporal) they did not prosper; even so it is with things which are spiritual.

44. For behold, it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land.

45. And now I say, is there not a type in this thing? For just as surely as this director did bring our fathers, by following its course, to the promised land, shall the words of Christ, if we follow their course, carry us beyond this vale of sorrow into a far better land of promise.

I have taken multiple hours reading, learning, pondering, and in my basement, simplifying and condensing difficult concepts for the ease of understanding. I hoped that by doing so, you wouldn’t have to, but you could use me as a launch pad to further expand upon the scriptures (which some have). And each of you are familiar with that work. In fact it’s a running joke in our immediate and extended family. Even family friends have been warned about subjects to avoid if they don’t want to be caught talking to me about the gospel. I consider it the greatest compliment!

However, moving forward in our present earthly condition proposes an unmistakable fork in the road. It is at this fork that we face a significant choice, camouflaged in potential monetary gains. One road offers the edge of protection, while the other offers the second edge.

The Edge of Penalty: While the first edge offers protection, the second edge is the edge of penalty. The penalty is only for those who have been offered a good gift, considered themselves justified in their wisdom, experience, and success, …and, in their puffed up state, chose to reject the invitation.

2 Nephi 28:15-16

15. O the wise, and the learned, and the rich, that are puffed up in the pride of their hearts, and all those who preach false doctrines, and all those who commit whoredoms, and pervert the right way of the Lord, wo, wo, wo be unto them, saith the Lord God Almighty, for they shall be thrust down to hell!

16. Wo unto them that turn aside the just for a thing of naught and revile against that which is good, and say that it is of no worth! For the day shall come that the Lord God will speedily visit the inhabitants of the earth; and in that day that they are fully ripe in iniquity they shall perish.”

The sword is not Rob’s Double Edged Sword. The title was only intended to get your attention. It is the words of Christ, and it is His double edged sword. It is not my invitation. It is Christ’s. But, rather than choosing a stranger, who did not know your circumstances personally, He chose one among you. Your son, brother, uncle, and cousin. The message of the words of Christ in this blog has been tailored to you specifically. The invitation is yours, and the choice is at your doorstep.

Conclusion: I have been accused of offering “my version,” which many of you don’t agree with. I made no requirement for any to agree with me. However, if I am right, you will be held accountable for your inability to recognize it. You cannot claim ignorance, just because you didn’t do your homework. There is an accountability resting upon us all, when offered the invitation to the wedding feast, to recognize the invitation, have enough oil, receive the invitation gladly, and enter into the wedding reception. Otherwise, we are the foolish virgins!

Tests take on many forms. They are from Christ, to prove “our” hearts. The test is perfect for each of us. It matches the attraction of our hearts. It is not the same as anyone else’s test. It is ours!

Be quiet. Consider your royal hearts. The vibration is low, but can be discerned by those with ears to hear it. Don’t take things of grand magnitude to be light.

Ahui Hou! Malama Pono, and good luck with the test! Harrah for Israel!

Imua!

Are you saying here that God CHOSE YOU to bring the words of Christ to US?????? Wow! Christ gives the invitation and we may respond to the invitation of Christ. Whether we share that response with you or not is irrelevant. That we respond to Christ and Christ alone is what is important. Our connection to Christ is OUR connection. Christ is who we listen to and who knows us and our thoughts and our service and our intentions. He is all knowing. All else has limitations.

I have been accused of offering “my version,” which many of you don’t agree with. I made no requirement for any to agree with me. However, if I am right, you will be held accountable for your inability to recognize it.

And if you are wrong??? We are held accountable to Christ only, who knows us and our thoughts and the desires of our heart. That is the only accountability we need to worry about. Christ and no one else.

Here, you are so right! “It is not the same as anyone else’s test. It is ours!” And ours alone.

    Love,

    • Now that we’ve had our normal run-around-in-circles conversation yet again, it’s now time to dig deep into our pockets and work as if it all depends on us, …yet again. Just because we repeat the title Christ over and over again, doesn’t qualify as knowing Christ. Yes, I have been chosen to speak the words of Christ to our family. Not saying that the invitation wasn’t offered to anyone else. Many have been called. And just because I have offered the words of Christ doesn’t mean I am responsible for your connecting. I am not!

If I am wrong, then, like you, I too will be held accountable.

      Thanks for listening, and understanding…
      Son
