The things that I have written here have produced in you more negative responses than positive. I have witnessed how difficult it is to correct a millennium of traditions of human kind, from an “earthly” paradigm to A New Paradigm. I propose that we have never read the scriptures in the paradigm it was intended to be read. When we adjust our paradigm to find a foundation in light, then our scripture study will finally unlock what it has been trying to reveal since the beginning of the restoration, since Adam in the beginning of time.
Unnecessary Protection: Elder Uchtdorf spoke of his experience searching Google to prematurely rush his healing process. He used his example to point out, later, that the gospel is “simple,” and that the process of learning the gospel should not be made so “complex.” And then he deputized himself and the rest of the brethren of the quorum of the twelve and first presidency as the guardians of the complex. He said that they protect the saints from the too complex, so that they don’t hurt themselves (a bit patronizing if you asked me). This idea has been around since the beginning of the apostasy, thousands of years ago. Such protection is unnecessary.
As saints loose contact with the heavens, their sights become extremely focused on the earth. In our day, the lights of the heavens are strangers to us because at night our earthly light pollutes our view of the lights in the heavens. When we have been disconnected from the heavens for so long, the heavens become strangers, and the things of the earth seem to occupy our daily endeavors. We can go on for hours talking about sports, academics, occupations, money, debt, investments, entertainment, time, politics, etc. (and we do). But we find our heavenly conversations winded, unable to endure, and unconditioned to exercise, such that we cannot last an hour without getting bored or distracted.
The church paradigm we have been fed for thousands of years comes in the form of institutional salvation, program busy-ness, financial solutions, schemes of earthly success tied to discipline, and a hope for an earthly reward after death (mansions of palatial residence- palaces). For this reason saints have exercised unbelief, ever seeking but never being satisfied with what they obtain, no matter how lofty. Therefore, Zion is not us!
New Paradigm: A different paradigm is necessary to get out of our scriptures what it was originally intended to produce, an ascension! In ancient Biblical times, Deuteronomists did as the current LDS administration is doing. The Deuteronomists removed from the Bible, the books that spoke about the ascent, and simply tossed it out. Our scriptures have been tossed out too, and they are being manipulated to redefine the ascent as unnecessary, in exchange for “keeping the law.” The Deuteronomists also emphasized a salvation based on “obedience to the law.” They taught, “who will go to heaven?” an idea they thought preposterous, as Elder Oaks has echoed (Boise Idaho leadership mtg 2015). And since the current administration was God’s man on earth, it was the Deuteronomists who made the laws. Likewise, the current LDS administration has directed the saints to seek their salvation through obedience to the law. And since they govern the law, what they are saying is, “Obedience to your leaders (me), is what produces salvation.” Here is a quote from the ancient apostasy that sounds very much like Elder Uchtdorf’s instruction, to maintain a simple understanding, and let us protect you from the complex:
“Seek not what is too difficult for you, nor investigate what is beyond your power. Reflect upon what has been assigned to you, for you do not need what is hidden.. Do not meddle with what is beyond your tasks, for matters too great for human understanding have been shown you. For their hasty judgement has led many astray, and wrong opinion has caused their thoughts to slip.”
Those who believe this way, were always at odds with those who taught the process of ascension. Only in an “ascension paradigm” can the scriptures produce massive amounts of excitement, light and power. In an ascension paradigm the temple is a place of instruction to direct the pure in heart to the temple of the heavens, just like Isaiah in 2 Nephi 16 (Isaiah’s ascension). The temple becomes exciting, instead of a good place to take a nap! In an ascension paradigm, the world is viewed as the strange place, rather than the heavens. This paradigm shift is what will make the separation of the wheat from the tares that follow a paradigm of the earth. Seek the process of ascension in the scriptures. Nephi starts the first verse in the first chapter telling all readers that this is what he is unfolding. That is the mysteries we are counseled to seek. A New Paradigm is being offered to those who will receive it. All those who desire to receive, must do so, by arising to receive it (or ascending).
Conclusion: When we adjust ourselves to see an ascension paradigm, to find a foundation in light, then our scripture study will finally unlock what it has been trying to reveal since the beginning of the restoration. Suddenly, the plan of salvation can transition a people from the financial paradigm of the world, to an ascension paradigm of the heavens. Those who successfully accomplish this transition, to a paradigm of light, will be given the gifts of the spirit that seem so “unreal” the the common readers of the scriptures.
Suddenly, the power the current saints claim to have, seem to be merely “bitter fruits.” I would advise you to disregard the advice of “Keep it Simple.” I would advise you to follow the counsel of Joseph Smith to “seek to know the mysteries,” and to “make your callings and elections sure.” Give the scriptures another look, through the eyes of being instructed to ascend now. Seeing through an ascension paradigm breaths life into the scriptures like has never been discovered before.
