HIS PATTERNS! (779 words Short)

God doesn’t change.  For this reason, those who desire to know Him, they can do so by learning HIS PATTERNS (offered in scripture). God is patient the weakness of men, but will not permit them to thwart His work.

God doesn’t change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. How He establishes a people follows patterns. How he works with people, while they are His, follows patterns. But when they reject and fight against God, how he removes His support, warns, and destroys ALSO follows patterns.

The purpose of scriptures are to state the patterns of God to any who love God. Those who love God show it by learning HIS PATTERNS. In judgement, God has said, “Depart from me, for you never knew me.” Knowing God is possible through the words of Christ. Those who reject the word of God are no different than those who ignore it. The restoration, rebellion, and rejection of Israel is a pattern of value to us. It provides a sign for those who KNOW God. God’s process for building his people, sustaining his people, and rejecting his people follows HIS PATTERNS. Consider the rise and fall of ancient Israel (From Moses to John the baptist):

  • Moses produced a restoration, rescuing Israel from Egypt
  • In a short amount of time Moses offered to bring them into the presence of God, but they refused and were cursed to wander in the wilderness for forty years
  • Before he was taken away by God, Moses was instructed to leave certain ordinances and the lesser priesthood (access to angels)
  • God endured generations of rebellion, sending messengers to cry repentance, but they failed to repent
  • Corruption took over the leadership, and the people used their authority to coerce, manipulate, and force the poor and common class, to satisfy there vain ambitions, and their aspirations, to get gain
  • God sent an authorized messenger (John the baptist) to wrest the priesthood from the apostate leadership, leaving the people to kick against the pricks and fight against the church of God
  • A new dispensation began in Christ

Those who study the scriptures to know God can quickly see this same pattern repeated in every dispensation that ended in apostasy. Those who ended dispensations include Noah (at the time of the flood), Abraham (from Melchizedek), Ephraim (in Egypt), John the baptist (just before Christ), and John the beloved (who remains on the earth to pass Joseph Smith’s dispensation on to the Davidic servant prophesied to establish Zion).

God is patient the weakness of men, but will not permit them to thwart His work. God will allow men to use their authority to the fullest extent of corruption, but He will not allow the the foundation of the restoration, through Joseph Smith, to be lost to corruption. The pattern of the apostate Jews is repeated in the apostate Gentiles of the LDS church.

  • Joseph Smith produced a restoration
  • In a short amount of time Joseph Smith offered to bring the saints into the presence of God, but they refused and were cursed to wander in the wilderness for forty years (Salt Lake City, UT)
  • Before Joseph was taken away by God, he was instructed to leave certain ordinances and the lesser priesthood (access to angels)
  • God endured four generations of rebellion, sending messengers to cry repentance, but they failed to repent
  • Corruption took over the leadership, and the leaders use their authority to coerce, manipulate, and force the poor and common class, to satisfy there vain ambitions, and their aspirations, to get gain
  • God sent an authorized messenger to wrest the priesthood from the apostate leadership, leaving the people to kick against the pricks and fight against the church of God
  • A new dispensation is upon us

Conclusion: While the Lord is gentle, meek, kind, and he persuades all to come unto Him, it does not ensure that the people will come. Agency was protected by God from before the foundations of the earth, at all costs. If there is a people making a sincere effort to rise up, God will provide a way for them to exercise their agency in obedience and in observance to His commands.

Mom might argue that this method is not Christ-like, and that God does not use mean-ness to pursue his endeavors. But the scriptures state otherwise. Failure to lay hold upon the words of Christ cannot be used as an excuse, claiming innocence for not knowing Christ. Those who have the scriptures, and claims that they are true, must “know them” and judge the situation properly. Otherwise, the Lord will say to you, “Depart from me, for you never knew me!” This is HIS PATTERNS!
