Association Doesn’t Produce Salvation (1047 Words Long)

The Atonement was performed by Christ so that all men who desire to make weak things strong would know precisely who to look for instructions of how to overcome the world. Belonging to “The True Church” cannot produce salvation. Redemption only comes through a personal relationship with Christ.

Atonement: The way Christ makes weak things strong is through the atonement. For too long the wrong emphasis has been placed on the atonement, focusing on sin. Christ descended below all, it is true. However, it is His ascending above all that gives hope. He owns the only knowledge-base for any man to overcome the world, because He is the only one who performed the Atonement. He was able to ascend because of what He knows. He can teach you what He knows, so you too can ascend. It is Christ’s greatest desire to extend mercy to you, and help you out of this darkness, so that you don’t suffer as He did.

D&C 19:16-19

“16. For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent;

17. But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I;

18. Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink—

19. Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men.”

Repentance is to turn to God: Knowing how to turn to God is what the Atonement offers, so that Christ can succor us. Succor is: to assist and support in times of hardship and distress. He prefers that we come to Him to make weak things strong, and that we not suffer. Failure to obtain this knowledge is what leaves men to tremble because of pain, and to suffer both body and spirit, in grief and pain, without relief. By coming to Christ, He promises to help you overcome the world. He has overcome the world, and desires to teach you to do the same, if you would be taught by HIM personally.

The True Church: Belonging to “The True Church” cannot produce salvation. The church has used divine revelation, through Joseph Smith, as their RIGHT to: cover their sins, or to gratify their pride, their vain ambition, or to exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men. And they have done it in many degrees of unrighteousness. Teaching a man to follow the prophet is offensive to God, and is against the message of the scriptures to “come unto Jesus.” It is the message of an anti-Christ. God has “Amen-ed” that priesthood, leaving those who have acted in this manner without connection to heaven. They’re left on their own to kick against the pricks, persecute true saints, and fight against God. A prophet has not Atoned for anyone, and can offer no one salvation, except by pointing to Christ. If they would point others to Christ for access to the knowledge of the Atonement, they would never point to themselves!

Relationship With Christ: Redemption only comes through a personal relationship with Christ. No one is redeemed from the fall, unless they know Christ personally. The REAL WORK is for us to know Christ. Depart from me, you never knew me, …is His arms stretched out, but you chose not to receive His fulness.

To be redeemed from the fall is exactly what is meant by receiving the fulness. It is why all who are Christ’s sheep, hear His voice, and come unto Him. Not symbolically or figuratively, but literally come unto Him, while they are in the flesh. Redemption is precisely coming unto Christ, while in the flesh. Look at how the brother of Jared followed Christ, and was redeemed and brought back into the presence of Christ:

Ether 3:13

“13. And when he had said these words, behold, the Lord showed himself unto him, and said: Because thou knowest these things ye are redeemed from the fall; therefore ye are brought back into my presence; therefore I show myself unto you.”

There is no other way to be redeemed. You cannot belong to a group, and slip by, without a personal relationship with Christ. You cannot obtain knowledge to overcome your specific trials, in a group-therapy setting. This is not Alcoholics Anonymous. Association Doesn’t Produce Salvation. A personal relationship is the only way, and there is no other way nor name given under heaven by which man can be saved in the kingdom of God (2 Nephi 31:21).

Conclusion: A true church is only true when they do not mix the philosophies of men with scripture, and point to Christ. The true church points to a personal relationship with Christ alone as the only method for any individual to obtain peace from the suffering in this world. Members of the true church are those who study Christ’s messages, preserved by the hand of God, of people who have been redeemed, and have returned into the presence of the source of all truth, Christ. A true church can do many things, but it will never point to salvation through following a man who has never performed an Atonement!

Those who seek to call the LDS church the true church can do all the research they want through the talks of general conferences, since the death of Joseph and Hyrum Smith, and they will not find instructions to return themselves to the presence of Christ, in the flesh. The absence of this knowledge is the evidence the church uses to justify that being brought back into His presence in mortality is NOT available to all His sheep. And that only those in high official rank are privileged to have that. And THAT places the church in opposition to the words of Christ, that testifies, in it’s entirety, that “Christ” is the only way for all mankind to be redeemed. You cannot find salvation in association. Salvation can only be found through a personal relationship with Christ. Salvation is only offered through education in the word, then by angels, and finally through a personal relationship with Christ as your personal trainer. Association Doesn’t Produce Salvation.
