Looking back at the history from the fall of Adam, I have come to realize: It’s All the Same.
We think that “For us, the circumstances are different.” While the players in the game have changed, the roles are no different. Adam faced apostasy, and few repented and aligned. Enoch faced apostasy, and few aligned. Noah faced apostasy, and few aligned. Abraham faced apostasy, and few aligned. Moses faced apostasy, and few aligned. Nephi faced apostasy, and few aligned. Joseph Smith faced apostasy, and few aligned. We face apostasy, and few are aligning. Many are called, but few are chosen. Be the few.
What is it that the few align to? The words of Christ that teach, in it’s purity, the doctrines of Christ from Adam, until now. That doctrine is the same today, tomorrow, and forever. Even though the circumstances change as different types of people play different roles, the principles behind the roles are All the Same. Wickedness never was happiness:
“8. Now, the decrees of God are unalterable; therefore, the way is prepared that whosoever will may walk therein and be saved.
9. And now behold, my son, do not risk one more offense against your God upon those points of doctrine, which ye have hitherto risked to commit sin.
10. Do not suppose, because it has been spoken concerning restoration, that ye shall be restored from sin to happiness. Behold, I say unto you, wickedness never was happiness.”
No matter how you try to twist it, the decrees of God are unalterable. It is based upon true points of doctrine, …which are unalterable. You become the few, when you align with the true points of doctrine. However, you become the many who are called, but fail to respond, when you think that you can remain in ignorance, in order to maintain your desired life style. All who maintained the state of apostasy, refused to respond to true doctrine, and sought to cast-out, stone, and reject those who preached that doctrine.
Do not be so naive to think that casually reading the scriptures is sufficient to produce the expected salvation and eternal life, through the redeemer of Israel. In every apostasy, the doctrine supported and promoted is alignment with the world, and complacency. Reconsider your approach, recognizing that from the beginning, until now, It’s All the Same, …and then be the few, who: feast upon the words of Christ, adjust your life to fit it, and trust that you have built upon the foundation of the Lord, and that the Lord will sustain you.
Conclusion: While It’s All the Same, you have a choice of what role you will play, on this stage of time, that you are living. Rather than finding your role models in the Bill Gates’, or the Michael Jordon’s, or the Justin Bieber’s, or the Donald Trumps, …turn your hearts to the promises made to the Fathers, and then turn your hearts to the Fathers. Bill, Michael, Justin, or Donald will never coach you. But “the Fathers” are covenanted, that if your hearts turn to them, their hearts WILL turn to you, to train you to be one with them. And while you might be star-struck by the accumulated treasures of the first group, the treasures of the Father’s are beyond comparison, when held to the treasures of the earth.
I hunger and thirst for kinship (family), where the doctrines of Christ play a central role. We have tried building on the foundation of construction (occupation), surfing (athletics), Hawaiian (culture), and blood (DNA), but they have and will always prove insufficient foundations to endure eternity. However, when the words of Christ is used as our foundations, what we have, no matter how small or insignificant we might be in our communities or in the world, it is sufficient to overcome this world.
I refuse to nurture any relationship based on anything other than the doctrine of Christ. I will reject “ALL” relationships that are not founded upon that. So, rather than rejecting my family, I seek to re-establish my relationship with you, upon the foundation of the doctrine of Christ.
Although contrary to most of your opinions, I don’t claim to own the doctrine of Christ, and desire to be a fellow seeker, rather than some pompous leader. I would benefit from your revelation, when founded upon loyalty to the pure doctrine of Christ, rather than loyalty to an abusive institution. Our problems as a whole would dwindle and diminish when our foundations are based upon that. Our family would expand, to include those loved ones that we have attached to us, and endure into the eternities.
You have a choice to make. The time is short, but together the work is still possible.
