Key of Knowledge (926 Words)

Godliness is to be near God, and the power of Godliness is to know God, thus God is the Key of Knowledge. False teachers fail to come to God, stand in the way of others approaching God, fearing their own failure, and proclaiming a corrupt message. Eternal life is to know God.

Those who are near God are Godly. To be in the presence of God requires nothing less than Godliness, otherwise His presence alone is sufficient for the ungodly to wish the mountains would cover them in their guilt and shame. The Savior has provided a way for all to be Godly, while in the flesh. He offers the Key of Knowledge. He offers the Holy Ghost, which gives access to the mind and will of God.

Moses 6:61

“61. Therefore it is given to abide in you; the record of heaven; the Comforter; the peaceable things of immortal glory; the truth of all things; that which quickeneth all things, which maketh alive all things; that which knoweth all things, and hath all power according to wisdom, mercy, truth, justice, and judgment.”

The power of Godliness is to know God. Having been near God, an individual comes to know God, and from that knowledge they can act in confidence that what they are doing is pleasing to the God that they know. It is through confidence that power is produced.

If someone were to tell me that they’re sure that they saw Dad dancing on the streets of Waikiki, I would know that they got the wrong Dad. However, if someone reported that they saw Dad at a home improvement show, a lumber yard, a construction site, a chicken feed store, a laundry supply house, or a green house, the certainty that they were talking about our Dad is high. And if they claimed seeing him at all of those places, I have extreme confidence that they knew who I was, and knew who my Dad is. Likewise Godliness is to be near to God, and the power of Godliness is to know God. What matters most is the Key of Knowledge.

False teachers are described in Luke:

Luke 11:52

“52. Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the Key of Knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.”

False teachers have never experienced what they try teaching. Luke is clear that false teachers haven’t entered into the heavens themselves, and when they see people trying to do what they’ve failed to do, false teachers stand in the way of those that were in fact entering in. They remove Key of Knowledge. They prevent salvation and redemption, discouraging those who are working at returning into the presence of the Lord while in the flesh. They proclaim a corrupted message, even the philosophies of men, mingled with scriptures. And they are certain that it cannot happen, because they’ve never had it happen to them. In their ignorance they establish rules, corporate standards, uniformity, and massive marketing campaigns, to justify their ignorance, and they label it a “House of Order.” When they make their claims, they do it in Christ’s name, taking His name in vain. It is all in vain, if you fail to actually know God and Christ.

Ignore the ignorant, and keep seeking His face in the flesh. Those who are wise will not respect the lie intended to deceive true disciples to stop seeking after Christ. Instead, they will awake and arise by studying the words of Christ, to know God.

John 17:3

“3. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

Conclusion: Knowing God and Christ is the only way to eternal life. It doesn’t matter how many apostles you know, how many scriptures you memorized and can recite, or how many months of consecutive visit/home teaching you have done in your life. It doesn’t matter how many names you have gathered, and done ordinances for, none of it matters if all you have is ignorance. Sealing yourselves to the ignorant dead, is sealing yourselves to the damned. However, when you have knowledge, then you have value to your dead, and you can be a savior on mount Zion.

When you have the Key of Knowledge, what you have is the power of Godliness, and you are Godlike. The Holy Ghost is offered to those who will receive it, to make men and women more Godlike. The beatitudes say blessed are… or Godlike is… and instructions are given there, to assist those who sincerely seek Christ to become Godlike. When you have been redeemed, and brought back into the presence of God, then you are Godly, and have the power of Godliness, and can testify that you do know, not merely believing, who Christ and God is. Then you can save your kindred dead by teaching them about the God that you know.

Don’t be mad because the gospel doesn’t work from your vantage point as an LDS, following traditions of men that have kept you outside of the presence of the Lord in the flesh. Repent, simply turn around, be humble and don’t grumble. Just search the words of Christ so that you can be reconnected to the Key of Knowledge. It will not only give you an advantage now, it will be to your benefit in the life to come. Don’t let the fear of man stop you from Knowing God and Christ. Once you know them, then will your confidence wax strong.

  1. On the contrary, the gospel always works from our LDS side of teachings. Everything the prophets have proffessed has come to pass and on many occasions have actually “saved” us. So from our vantage point, we have truly been blessed by the counsel given through our prophets past and present because God is never changing. He is the Great I Am! And, by the way, have you, yourself come into the presence of God?!? If not, then you apparently have not experienced what you are damning us for. We are the same. That may be a derogatory comment in your eyes, but it is true. You have not achieved Zion with your perfect formula – and neither have we yet in following the teachings of Christ and the prophets called of God. We are on a journey. We work at it. The prophet receives revelation for the church and communicates that to the membership and we are left to trust or rebel against this divine connection to our God. I have personally found that when I have followed the counsel of the prophets, I have always found reward. May you do the same in trusting the order of God as he has given it for our benefit. I love you my son.

    • I understand why you feel the way you do, Mom. I’ll push back that everything prophesied by prophets have not come to pass as of yet. And I’d add, why would the scriptures warn us of false prophets in our day, if false prophets don’t exist among us? You’ll probably argue that Denver Snuffer seems to be a false prophet to you, but what’s your criteria to judge the difference between true and false? Is it the organization you belong to that identifies false prophets? What does a false prophet look like? What would he teach? The only way to judge the matter is to compare them to ancient prophets. And since that is found in the scriptures and by revelation, I might have the upper hand there, since, according to you, that’s all I ever spend my time doing. Don’t be upset that I have chosen to invest my entire life to the knowing of my God.

On the note of coming into the presence of Christ, I think you have serious misunderstanding about that personal visitation. It’s not an end point, but a new beginning, to be a new creature in Christ. It doesn’t offer rank. It requires those who know Him to serve others and generate oneness. I have never damned you for not coming into the presence of Christ. I have only stated that Christ’s presence was the point of the Doctrine of Christ. Nephi said it. I’ll repeat it. Christ’s presence is the point of the Doctrine of Christ. You have supported a religion, stating that the Doctrine of Christ produces everything else, but the presence of Christ in the flesh. You have reserved that for your leaders. Yet the scriptures teach exactly the opposite, it’s only about entering the presence of the Lord in the flesh, and to never trust in the arm of flesh. So, by your foolish traditions of ignorance, you have chosen to damn yourself. But you’re blaming me for damning you. All I’ve ever said was to read your scriptures. And that’s not my perfect formula, it is God’s.

You claim to be on a journey. Where are you going? Do you even know? How clearly do you know? That is the point of the scriptures. All I’ve stated was to look at them. Zion will be one because the scriptures animate those who belong to Zion.

You have witnessed the rewards of truths you have learned and followed. That’s great. Does that mean there isn’t more? Does that mean that if you’ve received truth from one source in the past, that God will only use that source in the future? Or can God use whatever source at His disposal?

It seems as if we cannot address one thing at a time because in a mixture of words you can continue to hide your ignorance. I can address and back up my arguments one at a time, through the words of Christ. But that will do no good if you don’t really care about the truth of the matter. It’ll only cause contention, until you want to discover truth, rather than defend your church. So, until that day,

      • I love peace! I love you. I never said anything about Denver Snuffer being a false prophet. I don’t think he is any kind of a prophet. He is a man who has a belief of his own whether it be according to the dictates of his heart, or according to his understanding of the scriptures, or according to his research, etc. He means absolutely nothing to me so please don’t assume I have anything to say or think about this man whom I do not know nor do I care to know. Also, let me clarify. Everything that I have heard the prophets counsel when I have followed such counsel HAS come to pass. It is amazing as to how the Lord works. Your belief in how you have dedicated your entire life to Christ is wonderful. Great! It almost seems as though we must leave all that we have and do the same in order to be the “one” you want us to be. But, no, we must work just as Quintina must work to provide for our families. Work has always been a true principle of the Lord. there is nothing wrong with work. You judge us on how much we read or don’t read our scriptures and then judge us on following rank which you hold onto constantly in your writings. Yet, your judgements on what you THINK we think and believe and follow are inaccurate. My confidence comes from knowing that Christ knows me and though I follow this “organization” that you are still mad at because of your experience, your comments are in no way the comments of Christ. So I, too, choose to follow Christ according to the dictates of my heart and my limited knowledge of scripture reading. I do not need a Denver Snuffer or a Robert “Adolpho to tell me what Christ himself reveals to me as I read and as I pray. Also, the prophet does not tell me what to do. He simply relays and communicates the will of the Father received through revelation to the church and anyone else who finds this communication truthful and profitable. I do, so I take what is said and I put it to the test and I have never been disappointed. Love you son.
