Philosophy, Science, and Revelation (1219 Words)

Since the apostasy, Philosophy and Science have battled for control, ignoring Revelation. Through the apostasy people were ruled over by Philosophers, until the people got fed up with being oppressed, and rebelled. The people debunked oppressive traditions with Science, but everyone has totally forgotten about Revelation.

The word “dogma” has nothing to do with the mother of a dog (dog-ma, …get-it), …that would be a bitch- a female dog, wolf, fox, or otter (not being crude, but that just goes to show you how what might seem obvious may not be so obvious. Besides I never thought that I’d ever use the word bitch). Dogma is a principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as “incontrovertibly true.” This sets the stage for the battle of the renaissance (1400 AD-1800AD).

Philosophy represented “religion,” and held the power over the perceptions of people’s minds for over a thousand years. Catholic Priests leaned toward the teachings of philosopher Aristotle, who defined God by stating what he knew that God wasn’t (or at least thought he knew). For example, we can’t say that God exists, all we can safely say is that God is not nonexistent, …or we should not say that God is wise, but we can say that God is not ignorant. They defined God by saying what He isn’t, rather than knowing what He is. The Priest was considered the mouth piece of God, and could expound the scriptures, making the translation “incontrovertibly true,” …and none could refute, despite that they were wrong. Priests settled the matter by stating their authority, and pounded in their stakes to make their claims.

The argument that has discredited religion, in favor of science, was based upon the reading of the scriptures. Priest’s claimed that their authority gave them power to expound the scriptures. They used their authority to expound scripture, claiming, the Bible says that the Earth is the center of the universe. This perspective was labeled Geocentric, or Earth-centeric. However, scientist Galileo, read the same scriptures a little differently than the Priests. He stated that the Bible could be read to express an Earth point of view, and nothing more. And then Galileo turned his telescope to the sun, moon, and stars, proving that Earth wasn’t the center of the universe. Priest’s, rather than repenting and fixing where they were wrong, they cast out Galileo’s theory, and called it heresy.  Today, it is common knowledge that the Priest’s were wrong, and Galileo was right, proving that a priest’s authority doesn’t control the correct understanding of scriptures. Scientists have used this case to support that there is no God, …only the natural laws of science. The battle between Philosophy and Science continues, as no one pays much attention to revelation. God has become an argument between religionists and scientists, who have never been in God’s presence.

Revelation flies under the radar of the brightest minds, only appearing in simple men like Abraham, Moses, Joseph Smith, etc. The philosophy’s of men mingled with scripture has never produced the presence of God. And despite the sophistication of machines, computers, and programming, scientists have never blasted off into outer space, to place an American flag in the presence of God either. Yet, we occupy most of our lives trying to balance between Philosophy and Science, never knowing God, never ascending, remaining cast out of His presence, rather than returning. Revelation is available to all, if they would receive it.

To receive it, revelation requires a pure heart, and purity is always tested. The veil is over our senses, not over our feelings. The heart governs feelings or desires. As our desires are to God, our hearts become purer, and our feelings can lead our actions, until our senses catch up. Revelation grows from feelings, to hearing, to seeing, to touch, etc. The scriptures refer to the heart as being the source of healing the deaf (those who cannot hear the Lord’s voice), the blind (those who cannot see His face and know that He is), and the lame (those who cannot walk back into His presence). All of it refers to revelation.

There is only one revelation, and it is the unveiling of God, the source of all light. The heart’s purity must be tested at every step, before more revelation will be given. The purification-work to hear the Lord’s voice is the effort we give to study the scriptures. The test comes, when a servant speaks with the voice of the Lord, disguised as a stranger, a bum on the street, or a son/brother, …can you hear the voice of the Lord and act? Acting upon His voice produces another test, as the Lord requires your actions to go against the logic and understanding of the world. For instance: Abraham sacrificing Isaac, Joseph being sold into slavery, the brother of Jared crossing the ocean, Moses parting the Red Sea, Lehi/Nephi leaving Jerusalem, etc.  Each of their hearts were tested at a higher degree, and the revelation they received matched. Ultimately, all of them offered all things on the sacrificial altar. Rather than a symbolic offering, a son or daughter of God must offer all things on the sacrificial altar, in exchange for walking back, for ascending, for the final unveiling, the one revelation, the unveiling of the source of all light, walking back into the presence of God.

Conclusion: Zion is a people who are of one heart and one mind, with no poor among them. I am certain that we have hearts of great potential. But our hearts are stuck on the things of this world, following after the traditions of men (philosophies of men mingled with scripture), depending upon science for our conveniences, that our efforts to balance our lives between philosophy and science have left our family outside of the presence of God!

The presence of God doesn’t remove the problems of the world, it offers a completely different paradigm that makes the problems of the world so insignificant, and produces power to overcome the world by faith. Moses’ problems with Egypt never disappeared, but God parted the Red Sea. Enoch’s problems never disappeared, but the city of Enoch was taken up. Noah’s problems never disappeared, but within the ark Noah was preserved. Moses, Enoch, and Noah had a paradigm shift by entering into the presence of the Lord. That has been available to all who would have a pure heart, hear the voice of the Lord, see His face, and walk back into His presence.

You have been invited to the wedding feast. You must have on a wedding garment, or else be bound hand and foot and thrown out. The sign in the heaven on Sept 23, 2017 is the sign of Jupiter and Virgo, crowned with a crown of 12 stars, standing on the moon, clothed in the sun. Symbolically, it refers to the family of God, built upon revelation (moon = wisdom or revelation), clothed in the robes of light (the sun), crowned with the glory of the heavens (12 star constellations represented by a 12 star crown).

We are required to see the things we learned in the temple as instructions. We must receive those instructions and find our way back. We must access the power of our family to do the work of knowing the words of Christ. Lets work!

Certified Mormon! (1323 Words)

In the efforts to write a document that states governing principles, I have discovered what I think ought to be the minimum (…and only) requirements to be considered a Certified Mormon! The eclipse cutting through the United States of America, on Thomas S. Monson’s 90th birthday (tomorrow, Aug 21, 2017) symbolizes to me a sign in the heavens that represents the end of the day of the Gentiles. It is an indication of judgement as the moon cuts off the light of the sun. Although the movement I am involved in have theoretically drastically differing opinions, The Standard & Guide (outlined here) is what I will hold myself accountable to, before God, angels, and you witnesses. It is also a statement of unity for those who will minimally observe and keep them, with the potential to produce Zion: one heart, one mind, and no poor among them.

Explained: There are two portions: standard and guide. The standard alone is sufficient to produce a seed of unity. The guide gives a little more information of how things can be done, in this dispensation, to produce one heart and one mind, with no poor among us, …allowing all to be free of being ruled-over, being able to govern ourselves, willing to be held accountable for our own flaw and error if we fail to come to Christ. Read and consider the following:

A STANDARD & GUIDE

STANDARD: We believe that every individual seeking to know God, through His son Jesus Christ, can be personally instructed by the Holy Spirit, to obtain greater light and truth. We believe that the words of Christ (past, present, and future) is the standard by which all followers of Christ should govern themselves. We relinquish any desire to have an institution, hierarchy, or strong-man lead us, being willing to be personally accountable to repent and turn to Christ, or answer for our own sins.

GUIDE: The following is a guide for the application of The Doctrine of Christ, Fellowships and Ordinances.

THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST:

Faith is having an assurance of unseen things. To exercise faith is to act in alignment to correct belief. Faith is the principle motivation of action and power in both mortals and in God. Having faith in Jesus Christ is: to believe in Him, to learn of Him, and to act according to a correct understanding of Him. Exercising faith in Jesus Christ will gradually turn action into power, producing unwavering faith in Him.

Repentance requires correct knowledge of Jesus Christ. With correct knowledge, an individual is able to recognize and turn away from personal error, facing Christ instead. Light dispels darkness and sin is quickly forgiven. Ultimately, repentance leads to being redeemed from the fall, being brought back into Christ’s presence.

Baptism is required of all who believe in Jesus Christ and repent. Baptism must be performed by immersion, by one holding proper authority, and when possible, in living water such as a river, lake, stream, or sea. Our Lord gave the following instructions:

Behold, ye shall go down and stand in the water, and in my name shall ye baptize them. And now behold, these are the words which ye shall say, calling them by name, saying: “Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.” And then shall ye immerse them in the water, and come forth again out of the water.

The Holy Ghost is the promised gift of the Father to those who have faith in His Son, repent and receive baptism. The Holy Ghost is a connection to God and will give you access to more light and truth through your heart and mind.

FELLOWSHIPS:

Believers are encouraged to freely gather together in fellowships to worship, partake of the Lord’s supper, and serve and strengthen one another. All are equal before God and everyone has value because of their unique gifts and abilities. Fellowships provide an environment for light and truth to be shared and experienced.

Tithes can be freely gathered individually or within each fellowship for the purpose of helping the poor among them. No one is to be paid for their participation in a fellowship. After the needs of the poor in the fellowship are met, excess funds can be donated to help with the temple.

ORDINANCES:

Gospel ordinances, including baptism and the Lord’s Supper, require priesthood authority in the man performing them. To receive and exercise authority within his family, a man must be ordained by another man who has authority, and ask for and receive power directly from God. If the man wishes to provide priesthood ordinances outside his own family, he must also be approved (sustained) by at least seven women in a fellowship. If he is married, his wife must be one of the seven women who approve. The women should sign a certificate proving the man’s sustained authorization to provide ordinances in fellowships.

The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper consists of bread and wine and is offered to all who have been baptized. The bread should be broken into pieces by the man who is officiating, then all should kneel while the man says the following prayer, exactly as written:

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it; that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him, and keep his commandments which he hath given them, that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

The blessing on the wine, also given by the man who is officiating while all kneel, should then be given exactly as follows:

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee, in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this wine to the souls of all those who drink of it, that they may do it in remembrance of the blood of thy Son, which was shed for them; that they may witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they do always remember him, that they may have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

The officiator and all who are participating should then eat the bread and drink the wine.

Marriage is between one man and one woman only, to reflect the image of God. Marriage is a required sacrament for the exaltation of both the man and woman. Marriages that are sealed by the Lord’s oath in a sacred place, will endure beyond death and into the Father’s Kingdom.

Those who are married according to their local laws, traditions or customs, should seek to have their marriage sealed by the Lord’s word. To prepare for this event, women and men should seek to emulate the Savior’s teachings in their marriage and their treatment of each other.

Conclusion: What I have written above is a fundamentally simple statement, upon which all who claim to be followers of Christ (anciently called followers of “The Way”) can come to mutual agreement and find unity, without constricting individual worth and expression through over regulation. As all truth is circumscribed into one great whole, this statement reflects the importance of accumulating all truth, to allow the truth to shape us, rather than reshaping the truth to fit our limitations, foolish understandings, and our desire to control one another. By this standard, salvation requires nothing less than all truth, including the mysteries of God, in full. This statement is my declaration of how I choose to live my life, and by what standard I expect to be judged. Any who can live this way, I believe, ought to be considered in every way a Certified Mormon!

Final Final- Governing Principles (993 Words)

Governing Principles

Governing Principles are prepared for the benefit of new fellowships, to maintain an eye single to the glory of God, as they navigate in a new environment of self-governance.

Salvation is individual, requiring a personal relationship with Christ. The doctrine of Christ makes this possible through faith in Christ, repentance, and baptism. The Holy Spirt is the mind and will of God. Christ and God the Father share the same mind and will. Thus, receiving the Holy Ghost provides individuals with the ability to access the mind and will of God.

Fellowships exist to assist the individual on their path to becoming one with Christ. They are to govern themselves freely as the spirit dictates to them, choosing to gather when, where, and with whom they please. Meeting in fellowships provides the opportunity to teach, serve, and learn from both the Spirit, and one another’s experiences. Equality requires that no one is above another and that all individuals have value. Regional and general conferences ought to adhere to the same principles and guidelines as fellowships, and can be called and organized by anyone at any time.

Tithing is to relieve the poor among you. It can be collected and distributed as a group, a fellowship, or as individuals. If done as a group or fellowship, tithes accumulated in a common fund must be distributed by the common consent of the group or fellowship. Separate fellowships can assist one another on a case by case basis, maintaining independence and autonomy. Tithes are not to be accumulated for wealth. If there are no poor among you, excess tithes can be contributed to the needs of a temple.

Performing ordinances, such as baptism and sacrament, requires priesthood. Priesthood is confined to men because of the fall. In order to exercise priesthood in fellowships, three key elements are required of priesthood bearers: ordination, sustaining, and confirmation.

Ordination: A man with the priesthood lays hands on another man’s head, calls him by name, and confers upon him the priesthood in the name of Jesus Christ.

Sustaining: A vote of seven women is required to sustain a man to the priesthood. If the man is married, his wife must be one of the seven women, or he is unauthorized to exercise priesthood among fellowships.

Confirmation: Ultimately, the man must obtain confirmation of his priesthood from heaven.

If there is not a man authorized to confer priesthood, a man may perform the ordinances of baptism and sacrament within his family, with the confirmation of heaven alone. Record of priesthood ordination, sustaining, and confirmation should be kept in the personal journals of the man given priesthood and the women who sustained him. A certificate, signed by the seven sustaining women, should accompany the man should he perform ordinances outside of his family. The man is responsible to record and know his priesthood lineage.

In the event that priesthood is abused, exercising priesthood in fellowships can be revoked by a fair trial where a unanimous vote of at least twelve women vote to end his authority among fellowships.

The ordinance of baptism is a sign to heaven of an individual’s choice to receive the gospel of Christ. It does not offer membership into a fellowship or church. A man who has priesthood may baptize all those who desire as follows:

  • Both go down and stand in the water.
  • The man with priesthood will call the person being baptized by name, saying: “Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, Amen.”
  • And then immerse them in the water, and come again out of the water

As circumstances allow, the ordinance of baptism should be performed in living waters. A record of the baptism ought to be kept in a personal journal and also submitted to a central recorder so that the names of those baptized will be preserved within the temple of God.

The ordinance of sacrament should be performed as prescribed in the scriptures. It instructs that all kneel. The emblems of bread and wine are to be used as symbols of the flesh and the atoning blood of Christ. If any are opposed to alcohol, or have a medical condition preventing the use of wine, red grape juice may be used as an alternative. Bitter wine, in remembrance of Christ’s blood, is symbolic and appropriate. A man with the priesthood will pray to the Father in the name of Christ saying:

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it; that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him, and keep his commandments which he hath given them, that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

Amen.

The oneness of fellowships is a testimony to the world that Christ is the redeemer of all. Agency must be respected and preserved, allowing new fellowships the freedom to learn correct principles and govern themselves. Keep your eye single to the glory of God. Seek to receive God’s mind and will. Bear one another’s burdens that they may be light. Associate with one another as equals. God will gather his choice fruit.

The Law (1244 Words)

In response to Mom’s latest post, the law has value, when men are ignorant, but must be abandoned when they come unto Christ. She used the following scripture to argue against my last post that “the law” has value, and I would agree. But the bigger picture is ignored, that our responsibility was to come unto Christ, through His principles, which is His mind and will, …and then the law has little use for us. Here is the scripture she quoted:

D&C 58:20-22

“20. Let no man think he is ruler; but let God rule him that judgeth, according to the counsel of his own will, or, in other words, him that counseleth or sitteth upon the judgment seat.

21. Let no man break the laws of the land, for he that keepeth the laws of God hath NO NEED TO BREAK THE LAWS OF THE LAND.

22. Wherefore, be subject to the powers that be, UNTIL he reigns whose right it is to reign, and subdues all enemies under his feet.

In wickedness the law is the lowest form of governance, to maintain a form of peace and protection. The constitution of the united states, although inspired of God, was intended only to provide those on the promised land “righteousness.” And when righteousness abounds, the true ruler of all can lead the people into “more righteousness.” In righteousness, the law is meaningless, because living in righteousness proposes no threat to the laws of the land, but adds greater value “within” the law. When righteousness is in the hearts of the people of the promised land, the constitution is no longer useful, …and is dead, …and must be abandoned.  That is why the saying goes, “You can’t regulate an honest man.” An honest man regulates himself, and he doesn’t depend on the law of the land to reign himself in.

The early saints sought to establish Zion, but failed to do it because of jarrings, strifes contentions, malice, etc. They were unable to establish righteousness, and failed at their attempt to be one. They could not endure God’s chastening, to be sanctified by Him, to prove that they would not only accept the covenant, …but that they would also keep it (D&C 101:1-6). They fell apart because they could not live God’s PRINCIPLES. For this reason, the Lord “SUFFERED” the early saints to live the laws and constitution of the people, so that at least they were able to maintain the rights of their agency and all men were protected as to the flesh, according to “just” and “holy” PRINCIPLES.

D&C 101:76-79

“76. And again I say unto you, those who have been scattered by their enemies, it is my will that they should continue to importune for redress, and redemption, by the hands of those who are placed as rulers and are in authority over you—

77. According to the laws and constitution of the people, which I have “suffered” to be established, and should be maintained for the rights and protection of all flesh, according to just and holy principles;

78. That every man may act in doctrine and principle pertaining to futurity, according to the moral agency which I have given unto him, that every man may be accountable for his own sins in the day of judgment.

79. Therefore, it is not right that any man should be in bondage one to another.”

So, if you want to claim being governed by the laws of the land, or in other words the laws of men, …that is your choice! However, it is not the only choice available. There is a covenant, that if you accept and keep it, God gives you land for your inheritance. But it necessitates that you keep unspotted from the world, and remember His principles to understand His mind and will. Those who will do that, will inherit the earth, that she will offer up a multiplicity of abundance:

D&C 59:16-20

“16. Verily I say, that inasmuch as ye do this, the fulness of the earth is yours, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air, and that which climbeth upon the trees and walketh upon the earth;

17. Yea, and the herb, and the good things which come of the earth, whether for food or for raiment, or for houses, or for barns, or for orchards, or for gardens, or for vineyards;

18. Yea, all things which come of the earth, in the season thereof, are made for the benefit and the use of man, both to please the eye and to gladden the heart;

19. Yea, for food and for raiment, for taste and for smell, to strengthen the body and to enliven the soul.

20. And it pleaseth God that he hath given all these things unto man; for unto this end were they made to be used, with judgment, not to excess, neither by extortion.”

If you want to claim the laws of the land, go right ahead. Don’t let me stand in your way. But, living by that law, and failing to understand the principles behind it, will cause your suffering. The constitution, at its origination, was founded upon righteous principles, and you could gain much by understanding and living those righteous principles. However, the constitution is currently “on-the-ropes” and “down-for-the-count,” and it’s principles are generating plagues, famines, and pestilences. So if that is what you want for your reward, I’ll leave you to it. However, if you would “consider” for a moment what I am offering, the covenant, and it’s promised blessings, you might want to consider a different approach. A PRINCIPLE APPROACH!

Conclusion: We must not break the laws of the land, but using the laws of the land as an excuse to not rise-up is a LAME excuse for not rising-up! Lucky for you, Christ healed the lame, so He can heal you too. The covenant will work, even within the laws of the land, as they are PRINCIPLE-CENTERED, and not merely circumstantial. The laws of the land cannot regulate PRINCIPLE. Man cannot control PRINCIPLE. The scriptures offer PRINCIPLE. They are applicable in all dispensations before this one, and can be applied in this one just the same. That is how God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, by principles.

Free yourself from your PRIDE by considering what I am saying. Put aside your traditions from the LDS church, or any other institution you have been subscribing to for years (banking, academic, government, social, etc). Putting those traditions aside for a short time, to consider another perspective, will not threaten your standing in those institutions. No one will know that you’ve considered it. It will be between you and God alone. I don’t even care if I didn’t know that you considered what I said. But, if you are HUMBLE, then you would consider any and all messages that claim to be of God. I claim this message to be of God.

The Holy Ghost will bring all things to your remembrance “IF” you have been taught of Christ. If not, you will have no remembrance. You must submit to God’s mind and will first. And by the power of the Holy Ghost you can know the truth of all things. But, when you ask, you are required to ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, acting no hypocrisy. You must follow the example of Joseph Smith, who asked to know the truth SO THAT HE COULD ACT UPON IT.

I recommend you do the same. Don’t be LAME!

Accompanied By Scriptures (1400 Words)

Each dispensation always began with the presence of Christ, Accompanied By Scriptures. At the end of each dispensation, it always ends because the people have strayed from the scriptures. In this game of agency, there are only two sides, and the way to determine which side you are on is by the heed and diligence in which you search the scriptures.

After Abel was murdered, God gave Adam Seth, and immediately began to keep a book of remembrance, scripture (Moses 6:5-6). It was by this record that the language of Adam was preserved and taught to his children. And the pattern was established from the beginning, such that “…for it was given unto as many as called upon God to write by the spirit of inspiration;” (Moses 6:5). And by the writings of inspiration, “…their children were taught to read and write, having a language which was pure and undefiled.” (Moses 6:6). Adam began the dispensation, and he did so Accompanied By Scripture. And the first order of business was to start at the beginning, at the creation:

Moses 6:8-9

8. Now this prophecy Adam spake, as he was moved upon by the Holy Ghost, and a genealogy was kept of the children of God. And this was the book of the generations of Adam, saying: In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

9. In the image of his own body, male and female, created he them, and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created and became living souls in the land upon the footstool of God.”

This is the pattern established from the beginning: A Father is established, having returned to the presence of Christ in the flesh, he writes what God tells him, and begins from the creation, down through Adam, until it reaches the person at the head of the dispensation.

Adam begat Seth, who begat Enos, to Cainan (not Cain), to Mahalaleel, to Jared, …and finally to Enoch. But, in Enoch’s day the scriptures had been largely ignored, changed, and eroded, …causing people to seek out secret combinations to manipulate the minds of men for power. Enoch was visited by Christ in the flesh, and was sent to set things right, by preaching repentance. He was considered a “wild man.” All of those named in the patriarchal line from Adam to Enoch were: preachers of righteousness/ spoke and prophesied/ and called all men to repent (Moses 6:23). The condition of apostasy that the children of men where in are described by God in Moses 6:27-30. Once Enoch was called to this work, God instructed him to put clay on his eyes and wash it off. Enoch was then given the ability to see all things from the beginning, so that his testimony bore the same witness as Adam’s testimony. Enoch was given Adam’s record, and Enoch added his own testimony to Adam’s. And that record was written according to the pattern given of God, and it was given in the current language of the day (Moses 6:46).

Noah tells a similar story as Enoch, as the people in all the land have fallen into apostasy once again. Noah returns into the presence of Christ in the flesh, preserves the record of Adam through the flood, and preaches repentance on the other side of the flood. But that dispensation ends quickly, as Melchizedek’s people, the city of Salem, ascend to join the city of Enoch, and apostasy continues for ten generations, until Abraham.

Abraham records his account this way:

Abraham 1:2-3

2. And, finding there was greater happiness and peace and rest for me, I sought for the blessings of the fathers, and the right where unto I should be ordained to administer the same; having been myself a follower of righteousness, desiring also to be one who possessed great knowledge, and to be a greater follower of righteousness, and to possess a greater knowledge, and to be a father of many nations, a prince of peace, and desiring to receive instructions, and to keep the commandments of God, I became a rightful heir, a High Priest, holding the right belonging to the fathers.

3. It was conferred upon me from the fathers; it came down from the fathers, from the beginning of time, yea, even from the beginning, or before the foundation of the earth, down to the present time, even the right of the firstborn, or the first man, who is Adam, or first father, through the fathers unto me.”

What has Abraham found? Christ! And that is how he is established as a Father of many nations and a High Priest, holding the right belonging to the fathers. Abraham finds himself amongst apostate idol worshippers, and is once again connected to the fathers, given the record of the fathers, from the beginning down until it comes to him. God tells Abraham that he will receive the same as Noah (Abraham 1:19).

Moses finds himself among the House of Israel, trapped in bondage to the Egyptians, in a lost, fallen, and a state of apostasy. Moses tells of similar experiences, having been restored to the presence of Christ, been called as one of the Fathers, given the record from the beginning, having viewed all things on this earth, cast out Satan, and commanded to continue the record (Moses 1).

Lehi finds himself among an apostate people. He obtains a vision, where he returns into the presence of Christ in the flesh, is given a record, and his son retrieves the record from Laban, which tells of the Fathers from the beginning, up until the time of Lehi’s departure. That record passes on through Nephi, who also had returned to the presence of Christ in the flesh, until it is once again lost to apostasy.

It was no surprise that Joseph Smith came in a time of apostasy. He was brought back into the presence of Christ in the flesh, restored 1/3 of the records from the gold plates, and it teaches us of the fathers from the beginning, from Adam, until it comes to Joseph. Although the tradition in the LDS church is to state that this is the last dispensation, calling it “The Dispensation of the Fulness of Times,” the scriptures prophesy of another apostasy, called the end of the day of the Gentiles, before the establishment of Zion. We have been under condemnation for almost 200 years. And we now find ourselves oblivious to the record of the fathers from Adam until now. In fact we have gone to great lengths to change the story line so that our leaders become more significant than the understanding of that record.

Currently, another man has obtained the presence of the Lord. The scriptures brought through Joseph Smith is being preserved, and taking its place once again, to restore the record from the beginning, until now. I bear witness that a new dispensation is upon us, and that it is Accompanied By Scriptures.

Conclusion: Recently our family has been through the ringer. Some of you more than others. I had a conversation where Sig expressed her initial approach to the scriptures. She prayed, opened up the book to wherever it fell open, and read that passage. She has progressed to begin learning the story line. And she is now moving into the realm of pondering what the authors are conveying. I have followed the same pattern, and I bear testimony that, although it helped me progress slowly, it is the least efficient way of learning the scriptures. It is becoming more and more important that we do not squander our time, using this pattern to become familiar with the scriptures.

Your PRIDE has stopped you from making a serious effort. When you finally make a serious effort, it will be far more effective for us to have regular conversations on the words of Christ. NOT because I will now be your master. NO! But because I can get you up to speed much faster than you can by using the “pray and pop open the scripture” method.

While you may have been “humbled” by the terrible circumstances you are currently in, that is not the same as being HUMBLE. PRIDE can continue dormant, until you have passed through your difficulty, …and then it can return with greater force if it is not directly addressed. HUMILITY, on the other hand, only comes through the words of Christ. Check your pride at the door, and enter into humility, through a serious study of the words of Christ. And lets talk!

Lions, Tigers, and Bears… Oh My (951 Words)

Whenever Zion is referenced you will read about animals like the Lion, Lamb, Wolf, Kid, Cow, and Bear. Each of these play different roles, and have different personalities, but they lie down together without any ire. In the world, you must rely upon self-confidence, but when you rely upon God, all you want is that your confidence wax strong in the presence of God. And that is COMPLETE!

This morning my wife shared an epiphany with me concerning the future establishment of Zion. Coming from her Blackfoot background, she read about the animals being described in Zion, and she asked, “What if the animals were symbolic of different types of people, who qualified for Zion by being able to get along with other types of people, without any contention?” When she said it to me, it was pure intelligence to my mind. Although I cannot state with certainty that this was the intention of the author, I can see that the mindset my wife described of animals in peace, is precisely what will be needed for Zion to succeed today. Consider what the scriptures say:

2 Nephi 30:10-18

“10. For the time speedily cometh that the Lord God shall cause a great division among the people, and the wicked will he destroy; and he will spare his people, yea, even if it so be that he must destroy the wicked by fire.

11. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

12. And then shall the wolf dwell with the lamb; and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf, and the young lion, and the fatling, together; and a little child shall lead them.

13. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

14. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp (a poisonous snake), and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’s den (dragon/crocodile’s den).

15. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

16. Wherefore, the things of all nations shall be made known; yea, all things shall be made known unto the children of men.

17. There is nothing which is secret save it shall be revealed; there is no work of darkness save it shall be made manifest in the light; and there is nothing which is sealed upon the earth save it shall be loosed.

18. Wherefore, all things which have been revealed unto the children of men shall at that day be revealed; and Satan shall have power over the hearts of the children of men no more, for a long time. And now, my beloved brethren, I make an end of my sayings.”

Each of these animals play different roles, and have different personalities, but they lie down together without any ire. The reason they are able to do so is because their ignorance has been cured by the filling of the earth with the knowledge of the Lord. Don’t miss verse 15, where it states that “…the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters of the sea.” Our family is very familiar with the waters of the pacific ocean, especially when you’ve been wiped out by a 15 foot face of wave (7.5 ft Hawaiian). Notice also that all the secrets are revealed, and Satan has no more power over our hearts.

When you are of “the world,” you must rely heavily upon self-confidence. You must trudge through your career in a dog-eat-dog world. You are required to dig a pit for your neighbors, requiring them to enter into debt, until death (Mortgage), in order for you to make a living off of their indebtedness. In the world we take on the hierarchy of the food chain, like animals.

When you are of “the heavens,” you must rely upon your confidence in the presence of God. God’s mind and will is all that matters to you. You are not distracted by the aspirations of men, you fight to remove bondage, rather than profit from enslaving your neighbor. You exercise your priesthood using persuasion, gentleness, meekness, long suffering, kindness, etc. Those who lived their life trusting in God are given gifts for doing so:

D&C 121:45-46

“45. Let thy bowels also be full of charity towards all men, and to the household of faith, and let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God; and the doctrine of the priesthood shall distil upon thy soul as the dews from heaven.

46. The Holy Ghost shall be thy constant companion, and thy scepter an unchanging scepter of righteousness and truth; and thy dominion shall be an everlasting dominion, and without compulsory means it shall flow unto thee forever and ever.”

Conclusion: Zion is the only way. It requires that we put aside our instinctive animalistic behaviors of contention, and railings, to allow one another to lie down together without any ire, or offense. We must remove the natural tendency of the food chain to allow a hierarchy to rule over us and command us in all things, like slothful and unwise servants. We must rely wholly upon God, and that requires our study to know God personally.

Please make a serious effort to study these things out in your heart and in your mind. That is the planting of the word, which was likened unto a seed. God has promised revelations upon revelations. He loves you and desires to have you. Come unto God, through his word, his servant, and his son.
