Hypocrisy and Guile (843 Words)

There are two attributes we are instructed to avoid: Hypocrisy and Guile. Exercising faith requires action to align with belief, otherwise it is Hypocrisy. Sincerity indicates a pure heart, ulterior motives express Guile. To be without Hypocrisy and Guile is to align your actions with your understanding of God, and sincerely seek more.

There are two attributes we are instructed to avoid when wielding power or influence: Hypocrisy and Guile.

D&C 121:41-42

“41. No power or influence can or ought to be maintained by virtue of the priesthood, only by persuasion, by long-suffering, by gentleness and meekness, and by love unfeigned;

42. By kindness, and pure knowledge, which shall greatly enlarge the soul without hypocrisy, and without guile

  • Hypocrisy: the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one’s own behavior does not conform.
  • Guile: sly or cunning intelligence.

Faith is an assurance of things hoped for, but not seen. To be “assured” is to have confidence. Fear erodes assurance/confidence, therefore it is the opposite of faith. The more understanding we have, our assurance/confidence grows in that thing, …until faith overcomes fear and produces ACTION.

D&C 76:53-55

“53. And who overcome by faith, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, which the Father sheds forth upon all those who are just and true.

54. They are they who are the church of the Firstborn.

55. They are they into whose hands the Father has given all things

To overcome by faith is to have grown your faith, until it is greater than all tasks or obstacles on your path to return to your Father in heaven. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ rely’s wholly upon what you understand of Him. Someone who knows Him can exercise greater faith in Him, than those who are separated from Him in ignorance. Great knowledge produces great faith, which produces great ACTION. Repeated action, aligned with correct knowledge, produces POWER. Faith is the principle motivation of ACTION and POWER in all intelligent beings, including God. POWER is tied to “unwavering faith,” the kind of faith sufficient to move mountains, to command a tree to grow in the middle of the ocean and it will grow, to part the waters, or walk on water, and to raise the dead. The enemy to faith is fear, and Hypocrisy is the camouflage of fear, so that justifications cloak the truth, allowing fear to grow, eroding faith, until you know nothing of the mysteries of God. Ignorance of the mysteries of God is referred to by Alma as “the chains of hell” (Alma 12:10-11). Exercising faith requires action aligned with belief, otherwise it is Hypocrisy. And Hypocrisy stunts faith. Do as you claim you believe, know God, receive the mysteries in full, obtain eternal life.

Sincerity indicates a pure heart, while ulterior motives express Guile. The Lord expects an offering from all who claim to be His followers: a broken heart and contrite spirit. Guile mimics the symptoms of a broken heart and contrite spirit, to deceive, by wearing a sad countenance, or sheep’s clothing, when the heart is really hard and obstinate, and within hides a ravenous wolf. Guile is used to trick people with logic and reasoning to control and produce reactions, keeping men trapped in ignorance. Anti-christs like Nehor and Korihor use it. Today, politicians use Guile all the time. Marketers do too. They make bad look good and good seem evil, as Isaiah prophesied they would. Guile makes Satan’s methods so appealing that 1/3 of the hosts of heaven fell and were cast down with him. Anyone claiming a scary, ugly, unappealing person as Satan, is ignorant of his attribute of Guile.

To be without Hypocrisy and Guile is to align your actions with your understanding of God, and sincerely seek more.

Conclusion: Go to the light. The large and spacious building is well populated with Hypocrites who say, but don’t do. They mock and cast people out when they aren’t Hypocrites like them. They scoff and scorn, using peer pressure to influence, rather than  pure knowledge that greatly enlarges the soul. When ignorance cannot penetrate those who know Christ, those in the large and spacious building use Guile to deceptively re-label and re-package truth to make ignorance justified. They say “Don’t worry about how much you know the scriptures, that’s for the scholars.” “Don’t worry about the history, the whole truth has nothing to offer. Stick to what we say the truth is.” “Just keep your eye on us, and forget about the many large and spacious buildings we own, and draw billions of dollars of revenues from annually, while the Hawaiians are incarcerated in their cell of ignorance, bondage, and captivity.”

Try flipping that argument around. Where is my large and spacious building? Where are my crowds of mockers, casting people out? Where is my re-labeling and re-packeging of the truth and the history? Where are my lawyers hiding my sources of revenue, my office towers, my shopping mall revenues, etc.?

I do all I can to act as I know, and sincerely seek to know more (not only to say, but to actually do the seeking to know more). You have been a witness of my fruits, having read here and conversed in person, to witness the light that I have added to the subject of the scriptures. I am not a Hypocrite and there is no Guile in me. I do as I say I’m gonna do, and what you see is what you get with me. I don’t hide my history, I own it, account for it, and place it on the altar of the atonement for it to burn by the quenching heat of the fire, …the light. What remains after the burning is more light in me. I live as I believe, and for that I will take what comes with it, offering up my all, …even my good name.

Certified Mormon! (1323 Words)

In the efforts to write a document that states governing principles, I have discovered what I think ought to be the minimum (…and only) requirements to be considered a Certified Mormon! The eclipse cutting through the United States of America, on Thomas S. Monson’s 90th birthday (tomorrow, Aug 21, 2017) symbolizes to me a sign in the heavens that represents the end of the day of the Gentiles. It is an indication of judgement as the moon cuts off the light of the sun. Although the movement I am involved in have theoretically drastically differing opinions, The Standard & Guide (outlined here) is what I will hold myself accountable to, before God, angels, and you witnesses. It is also a statement of unity for those who will minimally observe and keep them, with the potential to produce Zion: one heart, one mind, and no poor among them.

Explained: There are two portions: standard and guide. The standard alone is sufficient to produce a seed of unity. The guide gives a little more information of how things can be done, in this dispensation, to produce one heart and one mind, with no poor among us, …allowing all to be free of being ruled-over, being able to govern ourselves, willing to be held accountable for our own flaw and error if we fail to come to Christ. Read and consider the following:

STANDARD: We believe that every individual seeking to know God, through His son Jesus Christ, can be personally instructed by the Holy Spirit, to obtain greater light and truth. We believe that the words of Christ (past, present, and future) is the standard by which all followers of Christ should govern themselves. We relinquish any desire to have an institution, hierarchy, or strong-man lead us, being willing to be personally accountable to repent and turn to Christ, or answer for our own sins.

GUIDE: The following is a guide for the application of The Doctrine of Christ, Fellowships and Ordinances.

Faith is having an assurance of unseen things. To exercise faith is to act in alignment to correct belief. Faith is the principle motivation of action and power in both mortals and in God. Having faith in Jesus Christ is: to believe in Him, to learn of Him, and to act according to a correct understanding of Him. Exercising faith in Jesus Christ will gradually turn action into power, producing unwavering faith in Him.

Repentance requires correct knowledge of Jesus Christ. With correct knowledge, an individual is able to recognize and turn away from personal error, facing Christ instead. Light dispels darkness and sin is quickly forgiven. Ultimately, repentance leads to being redeemed from the fall, being brought back into Christ’s presence.

Baptism is required of all who believe in Jesus Christ and repent. Baptism must be performed by immersion, by one holding proper authority, and when possible, in living water such as a river, lake, stream, or sea. Our Lord gave the following instructions:

Behold, ye shall go down and stand in the water, and in my name shall ye baptize them. And now behold, these are the words which ye shall say, calling them by name, saying: “Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.” And then shall ye immerse them in the water, and come forth again out of the water.

The Holy Ghost is the promised gift of the Father to those who have faith in His Son, repent and receive baptism. The Holy Ghost is a connection to God and will give you access to more light and truth through your heart and mind.

Believers are encouraged to freely gather together in fellowships to worship, partake of the Lord’s supper, and serve and strengthen one another. All are equal before God and everyone has value because of their unique gifts and abilities. Fellowships provide an environment for light and truth to be shared and experienced.

Tithes can be freely gathered individually or within each fellowship for the purpose of helping the poor among them. No one is to be paid for their participation in a fellowship. After the needs of the poor in the fellowship are met, excess funds can be donated to help with the temple.

Gospel ordinances, including baptism and the Lord’s Supper, require priesthood authority in the man performing them. To receive and exercise authority within his family, a man must be ordained by another man who has authority, and ask for and receive power directly from God. If the man wishes to provide priesthood ordinances outside his own family, he must also be approved (sustained) by at least seven women in a fellowship. If he is married, his wife must be one of the seven women who approve. The women should sign a certificate proving the man’s sustained authorization to provide ordinances in fellowships.

The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper consists of bread and wine and is offered to all who have been baptized. The bread should be broken into pieces by the man who is officiating, then all should kneel while the man says the following prayer, exactly as written:

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it; that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him, and keep his commandments which he hath given them, that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

The blessing on the wine, also given by the man who is officiating while all kneel, should then be given exactly as follows:

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee, in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this wine to the souls of all those who drink of it, that they may do it in remembrance of the blood of thy Son, which was shed for them; that they may witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they do always remember him, that they may have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

The officiator and all who are participating should then eat the bread and drink the wine.

Marriage is between one man and one woman only, to reflect the image of God. Marriage is a required sacrament for the exaltation of both the man and woman. Marriages that are sealed by the Lord’s oath in a sacred place, will endure beyond death and into the Father’s Kingdom.

Those who are married according to their local laws, traditions or customs, should seek to have their marriage sealed by the Lord’s word. To prepare for this event, women and men should seek to emulate the Savior’s teachings in their marriage and their treatment of each other.

Conclusion: What I have written above is a fundamentally simple statement, upon which all who claim to be followers of Christ (anciently called followers of “The Way”) can come to mutual agreement and find unity, without constricting individual worth and expression through over regulation. As all truth is circumscribed into one great whole, this statement reflects the importance of accumulating all truth, to allow the truth to shape us, rather than reshaping the truth to fit our limitations, foolish understandings, and our desire to control one another. By this standard, salvation requires nothing less than all truth, including the mysteries of God, in full. This statement is my declaration of how I choose to live my life, and by what standard I expect to be judged. Any who can live this way, I believe, ought to be considered in every way a Certified Mormon!

Love Christ! (896 Words)

I recognize that Christ is in all things, including the plants, the animals, and in each person. The act of loving Christ positions us near to Him in proximity. The power of godliness is to know Christ, and when we know Him, all things testify of Him.

Christ is the creator of the world. He is in all things, and gives life to all things.

D&C 88:6-13

6. He that ascended up on high, as also he descended below all things, in that he comprehended all things, that he might be in all and through all things, the light of truth;

7. Which truth shineth. This is the light of Christ. As also he is in the sun, and the light of the sun, and the power thereof by which it was made.

8. As also he is in the moon, and is the light of the moon, and the power thereof by which it was made;

9. As also the light of the stars, and the power thereof by which they were made;

10. And the earth also, and the power thereof, even the earth upon which you stand.

11. And the light which shineth, which giveth you light, is through him who enlighteneth your eyes, which is the same light that quickeneth your understandings;

12. Which light proceedeth forth from the presence of God to fill the immensity of space

13. The light which is in all things, which giveth life to all things, which is the law by which all things are governed, even the power of God who sitteth upon his throne, who is in the bosom of eternity, who is in the midst of all things.”

Christ is in the light of the sun, moon, stars. He is in the Earth and the very light that gives you life, enlightening you, and making your understanding “quickened,” or sanctified, or Holy. So that you are able to understand things, not only on Earth, but also into the world of glory, into the eternities. It is Christ’s light that is called the power of God.

The act of loving Christ positions us near to Him in proximity. The BOM message is to position yourself near Christ, such that every prophet’s account invites you to enter into Christ’s presence in the flesh, literally removing the distance between you and Him. The redemption of Christ was to return you to Christ’s presence.

Ether 3:13

13. And when he had said these words, behold, the Lord showed himself unto him, and said: Because thou knowest these things ye are redeemed from the fall; therefore ye are brought back into my presence; therefore I show myself unto you.

The power of godliness is to know Christ, and when we know Him, all things testify of Him.

Helaman 8:22-24

“22. Our father Lehi was driven out of Jerusalem because he testified of these things. Nephi also testified of these things, and also almost all of our fathers, even down to this time; yea, they have testified of the coming of Christ, and have looked forward, and have rejoiced in his day which is to come.

23. And behold, he is God, and he is with them, and he did manifest himself unto them, that they were redeemed by him; and they gave unto him glory, because of that which is to come.

24. And now, seeing ye know these things and cannot deny them except ye shall lie, therefore in this ye have sinned, for ye have rejected all these things, notwithstanding so many evidences which ye have received; yea, even ye have received all things, both things in heaven, and all things which are in the earth, as a witness that they are true.

To Love Christ is to know Christ!

Conclusion: The two great commandments come in a specified “ORDER.” Love God with all your heart, mind and soul is the first. Those who love God, know God. Just as to Love Christ is to know Christ!

When we know God and Christ, only then can we keep the second commandment to love our neighbor. Since Christ is in all things, and through all things, and is the light and life that animates all things, …the reason we love our neighbor only after we love God is because …we see God in them! Those who haven’t loved God first, will find it difficult to see God in their neighbor, because they never knew God.

Satan rejects God. The destruction of the wicked killing the wicked is because the wicked have rejected God too. Accusations fly rampant, contention thrives, and the hearts of men run cold, because they have wandered in the dark, rejecting the light of this world. Rejecting Christ.

This shall all men know, ye are Christ’s disciples, if you have love, one to another. You can love others because you have first loved Christ. You can love Christ because He first loved you.

John 4:18-21

“18. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

19. We love him, because he first loved us.

20. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

21. And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.”

Proposed: Governing Principles

Governing Principles are written for the benefit of new fellowships, to maintain an eye single to the glory of God, as they navigate in a new environment of self governance.

Salvation is individual, requiring a personal relationship with Christ. The doctrine of Christ makes a personal relationship possible through faith in Christ, repentance, and baptism. The Holy Ghost is the mind and will of God. Christ and God the Father share the same mind and will. Thus, receiving the Holy Ghost provides each individual with the power to be one with them.

Fellowships exist to assist the individual in their path to becoming one with Christ. They are to govern themselves freely, as the spirit dictates to them, choosing to gather when, where, and with whom they please. Meeting in fellowships provides the opportunity to teach, serve, and learn from both the Spirit, and one another’s experiences. Equality requires that no one be above the next and that all have value. Regional and general conferences ought to adhere to the same principle guidelines as fellowships.

Tithing is to relieve the poor among you. It can be collected and distributed as a group, a fellowship, or as individuals. If done as a group or fellowship, tithes accumulated in a common fund must be distributed by the common consent of the group or fellowship. Separate fellowships can assist one another on a case by case basis, maintaining independence and autonomy. Tithes are not to be accumulated for wealth. If there are no poor among you, excess tithes can be contributed to the needs of the temple.

Performing ordinances of baptism and sacrament require priesthood. Because of the fall, men are responsible for performing priesthood ordinances. Acquiring and exercising priesthood, in fellowships, require three key elements: ordination, sustaining, and confirmation.

Ordination: A man with the priesthood lays his hands on another man’s head, calling them by name, and confers upon them the priesthood, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Sustaining: A vote of seven women are required to sustain a man to the priesthood. If the man is married, his wife must be one of the seven women, or he is not worthy.

Confirmation: Most importantly, the man must obtain confirmation of his priesthood from heaven.

In the event that priesthood has been abused, exercising priesthood in fellowships can be revoked by a fair trial, where a unanimous vote of at least twelve women find the abuser guilty.

The ordinance of baptism is a sign to heaven of an individual’s choice to receive the gospel of Christ. It does not offer membership into a fellowship or church. A man who has priesthood, may baptize, all who desire, as instructed as follows:

  • Both go down and stand in the water.
  • The man with priesthood will call the person being baptized by name, saying: “Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, Amen.”
  • And then immerse them in the water, and come again out of the water (As circumstances allow, the ordinance ought to be performed in living waters)

Record of the baptism ought to be kept in a personal journal, and submitted to a central recorder, for the names to be kept within the temple of God.

The ordinance of sacrament should be performed as Christ prescribed in the scriptures. He instructs that all kneel. The emblems of bread and wine are to be used as symbols of the flesh and the atoning blood of Christ. If any are opposed to alcohol, or have a medical condition preventing the use of wine, use red grape juice. Bitter wine, in remembrance of Christ’s blood, is symbolic and appropriate. One with the priesthood will pray to the Father in the name of Christ saying:

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it; that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him, and keep his commandments which he hath given them, that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

Amen.

Agency must be preserved, allowing new fellowships the freedom to learn correct principles and govern themselves. Keep your eye single to the glory of God. Seek to receive His mind and will. Bear one another’s burdens through the path, that they may be light, and associate with one another as equals. Your oneness is a testimony to the world that Christ is the redeemer of all.

The Word! (799 Words)

I used to think that in order for a people to unite under a common law, everyone needed to have common principles that govern them. I have been enlightened, and learned that laws change to fit the the progress of a people. Our best chance of success would be to unify on laws we can agree on, and begin, like a seed, to grow into greater and greater law as we all progress together.

I was mistaken to think that people who differ in progression, could unite upon common principles. For a month my wife and I have been participating in a group effort to write a governing principles (GP) document for “fellowships.” We have invested the effort of wrestling with others to accomplish it, and have failed. We couldn’t understand why, within our little fellowship of five people, writing GP’s flowed easily, …but when gathering with representatives of other fellowships, it produced a totally different result! On the surface people were polite, but not only did we fail to produce a united GP document, feelings have been hurt, words have bruised and injured, and trust has been strained to the point of being almost totally lost. It is a real “natural disaster,” …as the “natural man” is an enemy to God, and we have responded as “natural men,” falling to pieces like glass. I should have seen this within our own family, but I didn’t, and had to learn it through sad experience.

I have come to a greater understanding of our effort to come to God by obedience to the words of Christ. Laws change to fit the the progress of a people. As people progress toward God, God gives “commandments not a few.” However, as people become more corrupt, laws are amended, and reduced to justify sins. In this blog I will address how laws can progress a people toward Zion, …as our constitution already is a prime example of how good law is amended, to erode a people, by justifying their sins, through a democratic process. Consider a law that prepares a people for Zion.

God is the same yesterday and forever, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. The plan of salvation is to bridge the gap. He gives us laws in scripture, based upon our level of desire to keep it, and write it upon our hearts. As a lower law is written upon our hearts, a higher law can continue our progression, until we are precisely what He is: gods and goddesses. His words, written in scripture, are static, allowing all who truly love Him to show their love, by understanding the words given, applying them as they understand, so that the words “become them!” That is how an individual writes them upon their hearts (BTW: it is not scripture mastery). That is why John the Beloved identified Christ as the Word!

John 1:1-5

1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2. The same was in the beginning with God.

3. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.

4. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

(I capitalized and bolded Him” to represent Christ as the person who is being spoken of. It is my innovation, but it represents the proper application of the author. Take it or leave it as you please.)

More word is given by God when we follow the example of Christ by writing them upon our hearts, until we become like Christ ourselves. That is how all can progress line upon line, precept upon precept, grace for grace, and from grace to grace. As God is the one who knows all, it is God’s words that unite. A people who are willing to be governed by God’s words need only write them, and progress their unity when God gives more word.

I have learned that our best chance of success would be to unify on laws we can agree on, and begin, like a seed, to grow into greater and greater law as we all progress together. Too many words all at once, possesses too much risk. We must go from one small line to the next, letting God do the heavy lifting of uniting our hearts and minds, by growing the word within us. That is the tree that produces the sweet fruit (Alma 32:42)

Conclusion: Lets begin to identify the law we can be governed by, as a family, and plant that seed, using the words of Christ available to us all. Then allow the words of Christ to grow within us, uniting our family into the eternities.

Weeds Aren’t Bad! (899 Words)

Weeds Aren’t Bad! Dealing with weeds offers great insight to dealing with sin. A better approach to both weeds and sin is to repair the dirt.

God only blesses. Even when we witness God cursing man, His curses are always an invitation to receive blessings. The duality of blessings and cursing is a divine attribute of God, and gives value to weeds. For instance, in the creation, both kinds of seeds were set in the earth: fruiting seeds, and repairing seeds. Weeds are repairing seeds. Therefore, Weeds Aren’t Bad!

A working ecology has no weeds, and man can walk in that environment barefooted, without injury. The Garden of Eden is a perfect example of that. However, when an ecology is broken, repairing seeds are activated to repair what’s been broken. There are thousands of dormant weed seeds everywhere. Dandelions fill an area, drilling deep into the ground, to aerate tightly clumped soil. Clumpy soil doesn’t allow roots to grow to find nourishment and water. Dandelions break up the soil, making it easier for deep roots to be established. However, it takes years for dandelions to do the job. Once the job’s done, the dandelions die on its own, and doesn’t return again, until the soil is clumpy again. Thorns and thistles protect damaged ground from being walked on, until the ground is able to repair, then they too go away on it’s own. Weeds Aren’t Bad! Weeds are simply an indicator of what’s broken in the Earth. Weeds have value, if we listen to them and learn what needs to be repaired.

Adam and Eve partook of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil prematurely. They broke the ecology of the Garden of Eden, and God said that he cursed the Earth with briars, thorns, thistles, and noxious weeds, …for their sake. Their food source now did not produce spontaneously, and the ground needed to be repaired by the sweat of their brow, or else they’d starve. When mankind repair what has been broken, only then can the Earth receive it’s paradisiacal glory, and produce fruits spontaneously, yielding her fruit to those who inherit the Earth’s fullness (D&C 59:15-20)

Dealing with weeds offers great insight into dealing with sin. Too often we pull an embarrassing weed, when what we should do is LISTEN to figure out what’s really broken in the Earth. Likewise, men hide their sins, pulling them like weeds so they are not visible, without fixing what’s broken. Just like weeds, sin returns time and time again, because the dirt (the flesh) remains unrepaired. By the sweat of thy brow, man must work within their hearts, doing the labor to repair the flesh, tilling, aerating, nourishing, and fixing their hearts, …until the soil has been repaired.

A better approach to both weeds and sin is to repair the dirt. The words of Christ, when planted in the hearts of men like a little seed, produce different results, depending on the soil, or the heart upon which it is planted. The parable of the sower tells us of different conditions of soil: one by the wayside, another on stony ground, another being good ground, but choked out by thorns (weeds), and the last was planted on good ground, yielding much fruit. When the words of Christ are restricted by the false traditions of men, …those traditions restricts the soil of the heart, not allowing the tree to grow properly, producing all kinds of different fruit (Jacob 5). The words of Christ only requires a soft heart to produce sweet fruit.

If we pay attention to the weeds, we can resolve what’s broken, so that we can partake of the fruit that is white above all that is white, pure above all that is pure, and if you eat you neither hunger nor thirst. Pay attention to the sin around you. They are God’s indicator of your weakness. And with God’s instruction, and by the sweat of your brow, you can work with God, and He will make weak things strong unto you, by helping you repair the soil.

Conclusion: God blesses and curses, often at the same time. Christ’s death was horrible, but all prophets who witnessed it celebrated it’s event, singing the song of redeeming love. Enoch rejoiced at the slaying of the lamb of God (Moses 7:47).

I had a glimpse of this duality of blessing and cursing, when I saw Nui on the road last Sunday. I hurt inside, that my big brother wouldn’t have let me know that his son was here, so my wife and I, and all my children could visit with him. My wife could tell. When she asked if I were OK, I knew the hurt didn’t feel good, …but I considered what the pain meant, and that Weeds Aren’t Bad! I realized what the pain was indicating. I understood the duality of the cursing and blessing. I hurt because of my deep love of my brother. Had I not cared for my brother and my family so much, I wouldn’t have cared enough to hurt. I recognized that Christ’s pain in Gethsemane was less about the mistakes and sins, or weeds of men, and more because of His deeply rooted love for us. I rejoiced at the pain, because it was an indicator of the love we share as a family.

Mahalo for being my Ohana. Malama Pono!

Symbolic ECHO… Echo… echo… (1303 Words)

Zion is the family of God, and the symbol of the family is mistaken

Christ’s restoration of the church was a Symbolic ECHO… Echo… echo… If you are able to see through the religious justifications, what you are being presented points to a personal relationship with God and His family. Considering that the original design was a family, that will give us the necessary clues to identify what is required for entry into Zion. We-a-familia!

The Pattern: Consider the patterns of every restoration recorded in scripture, and you will find, in one form or another, the Symbolic ECHO directing our attention to the family of God. Adam taught his family, and they gathered at Adam-ondi-ahman (or Adam in the presence of Son Ahman), restoring the patriarchal order, and the family of God. Enoch and Melchizedek both established a family of equality, and produced Zion, or in other words a family of God. Noah, who lived between Enoch and Melchizedek, took on his ark, his family (the few who listened to him), but as stated before, only one of his sons (Melchizedek) was able to establish the family of God. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob renewed the ancient covenant of patriarchs, restoring the family of God once again. But, they’re truths were quickly corrupted within five generations. Even Moses failed to establish Zion, or in other words a family of God, as he too was only able to seal a handful, and the children of Israel fell into apostasy.

Christ didn’t establish Zion either. He offered the Jews the family of God, but they sought to kill Him instead. Since He preached among those who claimed Abraham, Christ used the Symbolic ECHO to point the minds of the Jews to the family of God established by Abraham. He called Peter, James, and John, symbolically pointing to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He called twelve apostles, symbolically representing the twelve tribes of Jacob. He called a quorum of seventy men, symbolically reaching back to the seventy family members who moved into Egypt. The seventy came of the twelve tribes, who came of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Exodus 1). When considering the big picture from the beginning of time, what you see constantly being restored is, …THE FAMILYThe Family, …the family.

The Family: If you are able to see through the religious justifications, what you are being presented points to a personal relationship with God and His family. As we are conditioned to a corporate and colonial world, we have justified our church as the only true church, upon the face of the whole earth. And we use as our evidence the Symbolic ECHO While Joseph Smith restored the church, echoing back to Christ, failure to see the objective of Christ to restore the family of God, “…all as at first,” is failure to see past the religion, to find atonement through a personal relationship with God the Father, through Jesus Christ, His Son. And this is where the Mormon model fails to return. They have used the model of a first presidency, twelve apostles, and a quorum of the seventy, and redefined it to be a hierarchy of greater and greater keys and authority, …when it’s original design, given by Christ, was that each were a Symbolic ECHO to the family of God. When Joseph Smith restored the organization, within the Doctrine and Covenants he reiterated that each of these quorums were equal in authority (D&C 107). And to add an exclamation point to it all, within the same section, Joseph Smith teaches about the original model at the beginning of time, pointing back to Adam and his seven sons (Patriarchal Order), at Adam-Ondi-Ahman. However, immediately after Joseph and Hyram’s death, the twelve apostles strategically, and over a long period of time, undertook to cover their sins, to gratify their pride, their vain ambition, to exercise control and dominion and compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in many degrees of unrighteousness. So what we have NOW is a clear separation of The Church and The Gospel. And our current organization, although they call themselves a family, is closer to a corporation, and furthest from the model of the family of God. We should repent and return.

The Lesson: How do we begin to return from what we are now, to become the family of God, and therefore qualify to belong to Zion? Considering that the original design was a family, the scriptures will give us clues to identify what is required to return the “family of God” to its proper order, clarifying the prerequisites for entry into Zion. We have vague records of Adam and the original Zion, Enoch and his Zion, and Melchizedek and his Zion. So studying that group would be a very great start, pointing the mind to what Zion “IS,” rather than focusing only on what Zion “ISN’T.” However, don’t underestimate the failure of the Jews at the time of Christ, and the failure of the early saints at the time of the restoration, …and their ability to teach us what Zion “ISN’T.” Knowing what Zion “ISN’T” is also beneficial, so that we don’t repeat their mistakes. You can study that concept yourself, but I’ll give you a few hints that stand out to me.

In all successful Zions, everyone was equal, and none was above the next. It was accomplished when the patriarchal head (Adam/Enoch/Melchizedek) preached the words of Christ, in it’s purity, and the people repented. They not only aligned with the words of Christ, but were united upon the words of Christ. Their united faith grew from the words of Christ, to additional light and knowledge from a messenger, until Christ Himself appeared in the flesh. We ought to maintain equality among us, having no one above the next, and being centered upon the covenant of the words of Christ, not only to say, but to do.

The failure of the Jews and the early saints identify their inability to see through the Symbolic ECHO But, …and there’s always a big butt, …their failures offer good information of what NOT to do. We ought to have NO hierarchy, and ought to depend only upon the use of “persuasion” as the only tool to convince others. The  jarrings or contentions of the early saints must be eliminated in us, and can be if we “center our lives upon the covenant.” And finally, the early saints failed to address the needs of removing poverty from among them. We can “focus our sacrifices” to have no poor among us. We cannot repeat the same mistakes, while expecting a different result.

Conclusion: We-a-famila! So lets act like the familia of God. Lets be centered upon the words of Christ, and put into question our false traditions. When we are centered upon the words of Christ, then we can discuss with one another the best method to work out our repentance. We have a lot to repent of, starting with our ignorance of the words of Christ. We will find, through this process, a reduction of jarrings, strifes, contentions, …and an increase of soft heartedness, forgiveness, healing, and abundance. As abundance begins to flow in our direction, we will maintain equality, and there will be no poor among us.

The biggest task facing us right now is our ability to see through a Symbolic ECHO… Echo… echo… We need to know the difference between a church, and family. If we can see God’s intention, pointing to the family, with a Patriarchal Father, then we can see that the church is not a place of safety. If you are able to recognize these truths, then you will see that I am not a threat to you. I am just as much your hope, as you are mine, to obtain entry into Zion. The separation is upon us. Both you and I are being judged here. Let’s work together.
