Proposed: Governing Principles

Governing Principles are written for the benefit of new fellowships, to maintain an eye single to the glory of God, as they navigate in a new environment of self governance.

Salvation is individual, requiring a personal relationship with Christ. The doctrine of Christ makes a personal relationship possible through faith in Christ, repentance, and baptism. The Holy Ghost is the mind and will of God. Christ and God the Father share the same mind and will. Thus, receiving the Holy Ghost provides each individual with the power to be one with them.

Fellowships exist to assist the individual in their path to becoming one with Christ. They are to govern themselves freely, as the spirit dictates to them, choosing to gather when, where, and with whom they please. Meeting in fellowships provides the opportunity to teach, serve, and learn from both the Spirit, and one another’s experiences. Equality requires that no one be above the next and that all have value. Regional and general conferences ought to adhere to the same principle guidelines as fellowships.

Tithing is to relieve the poor among you. It can be collected and distributed as a group, a fellowship, or as individuals. If done as a group or fellowship, tithes accumulated in a common fund must be distributed by the common consent of the group or fellowship. Separate fellowships can assist one another on a case by case basis, maintaining independence and autonomy. Tithes are not to be accumulated for wealth. If there are no poor among you, excess tithes can be contributed to the needs of the temple.

Performing ordinances of baptism and sacrament require priesthood. Because of the fall, men are responsible for performing priesthood ordinances. Acquiring and exercising priesthood, in fellowships, require three key elements: ordination, sustaining, and confirmation.

Ordination: A man with the priesthood lays his hands on another man’s head, calling them by name, and confers upon them the priesthood, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Sustaining: A vote of seven women are required to sustain a man to the priesthood. If the man is married, his wife must be one of the seven women, or he is not worthy.

Confirmation: Most importantly, the man must obtain confirmation of his priesthood from heaven.

In the event that priesthood has been abused, exercising priesthood in fellowships can be revoked by a fair trial, where a unanimous vote of at least twelve women find the abuser guilty.

The ordinance of baptism is a sign to heaven of an individual’s choice to receive the gospel of Christ. It does not offer membership into a fellowship or church. A man who has priesthood, may baptize, all who desire, as instructed as follows:

  • Both go down and stand in the water.
  • The man with priesthood will call the person being baptized by name, saying: “Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, Amen.”
  • And then immerse them in the water, and come again out of the water (As circumstances allow, the ordinance ought to be performed in living waters)

Record of the baptism ought to be kept in a personal journal, and submitted to a central recorder, for the names to be kept within the temple of God.

The ordinance of sacrament should be performed as Christ prescribed in the scriptures. He instructs that all kneel. The emblems of bread and wine are to be used as symbols of the flesh and the atoning blood of Christ. If any are opposed to alcohol, or have a medical condition preventing the use of wine, use red grape juice. Bitter wine, in remembrance of Christ’s blood, is symbolic and appropriate. One with the priesthood will pray to the Father in the name of Christ saying:

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it; that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him, and keep his commandments which he hath given them, that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee, in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this wine to the souls of all those who drink of it, that they may do it in remembrance of the blood of thy Son, which was shed for them; that they may witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they do always remember him, that they may have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

Agency must be preserved, allowing new fellowships the freedom to learn correct principles and govern themselves. Keep your eye single to the glory of God. Seek to receive His mind and will. Bear one another’s burdens through the path, that they may be light, and associate with one another as equals. Your oneness is a testimony to the world that Christ is the redeemer of all.

The Word! (799 Words)

I used to think that in order for a people to unite under a common law, everyone needed to have common principles that govern them. I have been enlightened, and learned that laws change to fit the the progress of a people. Our best chance of success would be to unify on laws we can agree on, and begin, like a seed, to grow into greater and greater law as we all progress together.

I was mistaken to think that people who differ in progression, could unite upon common principles. For a month my wife and I have been participating in a group effort to write a governing principles (GP) document for “fellowships.” We have invested the effort of wrestling with others to accomplish it, and have failed. We couldn’t understand why, within our little fellowship of five people, writing GP’s flowed easily, …but when gathering with representatives of other fellowships, it produced a totally different result! On the surface people were polite, but not only did we fail to produce a united GP document, feelings have been hurt, words have bruised and injured, and trust has been strained to the point of being almost totally lost. It is a real “natural disaster,” …as the “natural man” is an enemy to God, and we have responded as “natural men,” falling to pieces like glass. I should have seen this within our own family, but I didn’t, and had to learn it through sad experience.

I have come to a greater understanding of our effort to come to God by obedience to the words of Christ. Laws change to fit the the progress of a people. As people progress toward God, God gives “commandments not a few.” However, as people become more corrupt, laws are amended, and reduced to justify sins. In this blog I will address how laws can progress a people toward Zion, …as our constitution already is a prime example of how good law is amended, to erode a people, by justifying their sins, through a democratic process. Consider a law that prepares a people for Zion.

God is the same yesterday and forever, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. The plan of salvation is to bridge the gap. He gives us laws in scripture, based upon our level of desire to keep it, and write it upon our hearts. As a lower law is written upon our hearts, a higher law can continue our progression, until we are precisely what He is: gods and goddesses. His words, written in scripture, are static, allowing all who truly love Him to show their love, by understanding the words given, applying them as they understand, so that the words “become them!” That is how an individual writes them upon their hearts (BTW: it is not scripture mastery). That is why John the Beloved identified Christ as the Word!

John 1:1-5

1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2. The same was in the beginning with God.

3. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.

4. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

(I capitalized and bolded Him” to represent Christ as the person who is being spoken of. It is my innovation, but it represents the proper application of the author. Take it or leave it as you please.)

More word is given by God when we follow the example of Christ by writing them upon our hearts, until we become like Christ ourselves. That is how all can progress line upon line, precept upon precept, grace for grace, and from grace to grace. As God is the one who knows all, it is God’s words that unite. A people who are willing to be governed by God’s words need only write them, and progress their unity when God gives more word.

I have learned that our best chance of success would be to unify on laws we can agree on, and begin, like a seed, to grow into greater and greater law as we all progress together. Too many words all at once, possesses too much risk. We must go from one small line to the next, letting God do the heavy lifting of uniting our hearts and minds, by growing the word within us. That is the tree that produces the sweet fruit (Alma 32:42)

Conclusion: Lets begin to identify the law we can be governed by, as a family, and plant that seed, using the words of Christ available to us all. Then allow the words of Christ to grow within us, uniting our family into the eternities.

Weeds Aren’t Bad! (899 Words)

Weeds Aren’t Bad! Dealing with weeds offers great insight to dealing with sin. A better approach to both weeds and sin is to repair the dirt.

God only blesses. Even when we witness God cursing man, His curses are always an invitation to receive blessings. The duality of blessings and cursing is a divine attribute of God, and gives value to weeds. For instance, in the creation, both kinds of seeds were set in the earth: fruiting seeds, and repairing seeds. Weeds are repairing seeds. Therefore, Weeds Aren’t Bad!

A working ecology has no weeds, and man can walk in that environment barefooted, without injury. The Garden of Eden is a perfect example of that. However, when an ecology is broken, repairing seeds are activated to repair what’s been broken. There are thousands of dormant weed seeds everywhere. Dandelions fill an area, drilling deep into the ground, to aerate tightly clumped soil. Clumpy soil doesn’t allow roots to grow to find nourishment and water. Dandelions break up the soil, making it easier for deep roots to be established. However, it takes years for dandelions to do the job. Once the job’s done, the dandelions die on its own, and doesn’t return again, until the soil is clumpy again. Thorns and thistles protect damaged ground from being walked on, until the ground is able to repair, then they too go away on it’s own. Weeds Aren’t Bad! Weeds are simply an indicator of what’s broken in the Earth. Weeds have value, if we listen to them and learn what needs to be repaired.

Adam and Eve partook of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil prematurely. They broke the ecology of the Garden of Eden, and God said that he cursed the Earth with briars, thorns, thistles, and noxious weeds, …for their sake. Their food source now did not produce spontaneously, and the ground needed to be repaired by the sweat of their brow, or else they’d starve. When mankind repair what has been broken, only then can the Earth receive it’s paradisiacal glory, and produce fruits spontaneously, yielding her fruit to those who inherit the Earth’s fullness (D&C 59:15-20)

Dealing with weeds offers great insight into dealing with sin. Too often we pull an embarrassing weed, when what we should do is LISTEN to figure out what’s really broken in the Earth. Likewise, men hide their sins, pulling them like weeds so they are not visible, without fixing what’s broken. Just like weeds, sin returns time and time again, because the dirt (the flesh) remains unrepaired. By the sweat of thy brow, man must work within their hearts, doing the labor to repair the flesh, tilling, aerating, nourishing, and fixing their hearts, …until the soil has been repaired.

A better approach to both weeds and sin is to repair the dirt. The words of Christ, when planted in the hearts of men like a little seed, produce different results, depending on the soil, or the heart upon which it is planted. The parable of the sower tells us of different conditions of soil: one by the wayside, another on stony ground, another being good ground, but choked out by thorns (weeds), and the last was planted on good ground, yielding much fruit. When the words of Christ are restricted by the false traditions of men, …those traditions restricts the soil of the heart, not allowing the tree to grow properly, producing all kinds of different fruit (Jacob 5). The words of Christ only requires a soft heart to produce sweet fruit.

If we pay attention to the weeds, we can resolve what’s broken, so that we can partake of the fruit that is white above all that is white, pure above all that is pure, and if you eat you neither hunger nor thirst. Pay attention to the sin around you. They are God’s indicator of your weakness. And with God’s instruction, and by the sweat of your brow, you can work with God, and He will make weak things strong unto you, by helping you repair the soil.

Conclusion: God blesses and curses, often at the same time. Christ’s death was horrible, but all prophets who witnessed it celebrated it’s event, singing the song of redeeming love. Enoch rejoiced at the slaying of the lamb of God (Moses 7:47).

I had a glimpse of this duality of blessing and cursing, when I saw Nui on the road last Sunday. I hurt inside, that my big brother wouldn’t have let me know that his son was here, so my wife and I, and all my children could visit with him. My wife could tell. When she asked if I were OK, I knew the hurt didn’t feel good, …but I considered what the pain meant, and that Weeds Aren’t Bad! I realized what the pain was indicating. I understood the duality of the cursing and blessing. I hurt because of my deep love of my brother. Had I not cared for my brother and my family so much, I wouldn’t have cared enough to hurt. I recognized that Christ’s pain in Gethsemane was less about the mistakes and sins, or weeds of men, and more because of His deeply rooted love for us. I rejoiced at the pain, because it was an indicator of the love we share as a family.

Mahalo for being my Ohana. Malama Pono!

Symbolic ECHO… Echo… echo… (1303 Words)

Zion is the family of God, and the symbol of the family is mistaken

Christ’s restoration of the church was a Symbolic ECHO… Echo… echo… If you are able to see through the religious justifications, what you are being presented points to a personal relationship with God and His family. Considering that the original design was a family, that will give us the necessary clues to identify what is required for entry into Zion. We-a-familia!

The Pattern: Consider the patterns of every restoration recorded in scripture, and you will find, in one form or another, the Symbolic ECHO directing our attention to the family of God. Adam taught his family, and they gathered at Adam-ondi-ahman (or Adam in the presence of Son Ahman), restoring the patriarchal order, and the family of God. Enoch and Melchizedek both established a family of equality, and produced Zion, or in other words a family of God. Noah, who lived between Enoch and Melchizedek, took on his ark, his family (the few who listened to him), but as stated before, only one of his sons (Melchizedek) was able to establish the family of God. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob renewed the ancient covenant of patriarchs, restoring the family of God once again. But, they’re truths were quickly corrupted within five generations. Even Moses failed to establish Zion, or in other words a family of God, as he too was only able to seal a handful, and the children of Israel fell into apostasy.

Christ didn’t establish Zion either. He offered the Jews the family of God, but they sought to kill Him instead. Since He preached among those who claimed Abraham, Christ used the Symbolic ECHO to point the minds of the Jews to the family of God established by Abraham. He called Peter, James, and John, symbolically pointing to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He called twelve apostles, symbolically representing the twelve tribes of Jacob. He called a quorum of seventy men, symbolically reaching back to the seventy family members who moved into Egypt. The seventy came of the twelve tribes, who came of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Exodus 1). When considering the big picture from the beginning of time, what you see constantly being restored is, …THE FAMILYThe Family, …the family.

The Family: If you are able to see through the religious justifications, what you are being presented points to a personal relationship with God and His family. As we are conditioned to a corporate and colonial world, we have justified our church as the only true church, upon the face of the whole earth. And we use as our evidence the Symbolic ECHO While Joseph Smith restored the church, echoing back to Christ, failure to see the objective of Christ to restore the family of God, “…all as at first,” is failure to see past the religion, to find atonement through a personal relationship with God the Father, through Jesus Christ, His Son. And this is where the Mormon model fails to return. They have used the model of a first presidency, twelve apostles, and a quorum of the seventy, and redefined it to be a hierarchy of greater and greater keys and authority, …when it’s original design, given by Christ, was that each were a Symbolic ECHO to the family of God. When Joseph Smith restored the organization, within the Doctrine and Covenants he reiterated that each of these quorums were equal in authority (D&C 107). And to add an exclamation point to it all, within the same section, Joseph Smith teaches about the original model at the beginning of time, pointing back to Adam and his seven sons (Patriarchal Order), at Adam-Ondi-Ahman. However, immediately after Joseph and Hyram’s death, the twelve apostles strategically, and over a long period of time, undertook to cover their sins, to gratify their pride, their vain ambition, to exercise control and dominion and compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in many degrees of unrighteousness. So what we have NOW is a clear separation of The Church and The Gospel. And our current organization, although they call themselves a family, is closer to a corporation, and furthest from the model of the family of God. We should repent and return.

The Lesson: How do we begin to return from what we are now, to become the family of God, and therefore qualify to belong to Zion? Considering that the original design was a family, the scriptures will give us clues to identify what is required to return the “family of God” to its proper order, clarifying the prerequisites for entry into Zion. We have vague records of Adam and the original Zion, Enoch and his Zion, and Melchizedek and his Zion. So studying that group would be a very great start, pointing the mind to what Zion “IS,” rather than focusing only on what Zion “ISN’T.” However, don’t underestimate the failure of the Jews at the time of Christ, and the failure of the early saints at the time of the restoration, …and their ability to teach us what Zion “ISN’T.” Knowing what Zion “ISN’T” is also beneficial, so that we don’t repeat their mistakes. You can study that concept yourself, but I’ll give you a few hints that stand out to me.

In all successful Zions, everyone was equal, and none was above the next. It was accomplished when the patriarchal head (Adam/Enoch/Melchizedek) preached the words of Christ, in it’s purity, and the people repented. They not only aligned with the words of Christ, but were united upon the words of Christ. Their united faith grew from the words of Christ, to additional light and knowledge from a messenger, until Christ Himself appeared in the flesh. We ought to maintain equality among us, having no one above the next, and being centered upon the covenant of the words of Christ, not only to say, but to do.

The failure of the Jews and the early saints identify their inability to see through the Symbolic ECHO But, …and there’s always a big butt, …their failures offer good information of what NOT to do. We ought to have NO hierarchy, and ought to depend only upon the use of “persuasion” as the only tool to convince others. The  jarrings or contentions of the early saints must be eliminated in us, and can be if we “center our lives upon the covenant.” And finally, the early saints failed to address the needs of removing poverty from among them. We can “focus our sacrifices” to have no poor among us. We cannot repeat the same mistakes, while expecting a different result.

Conclusion: We-a-famila! So lets act like the familia of God. Lets be centered upon the words of Christ, and put into question our false traditions. When we are centered upon the words of Christ, then we can discuss with one another the best method to work out our repentance. We have a lot to repent of, starting with our ignorance of the words of Christ. We will find, through this process, a reduction of jarrings, strifes, contentions, …and an increase of soft heartedness, forgiveness, healing, and abundance. As abundance begins to flow in our direction, we will maintain equality, and there will be no poor among us.

The biggest task facing us right now is our ability to see through a Symbolic ECHO… Echo… echo… We need to know the difference between a church, and family. If we can see God’s intention, pointing to the family, with a Patriarchal Father, then we can see that the church is not a place of safety. If you are able to recognize these truths, then you will see that I am not a threat to you. I am just as much your hope, as you are mine, to obtain entry into Zion. The separation is upon us. Both you and I are being judged here. Let’s work together.

No Poor (1010 Words)

Poverty is a disease that plagues the world, and the solution has almost nothing to do with money. Equality is the solution to poverty, but equality has been redefined to promote slavery, and must be corrected if it will ever free us from bondage and captivity. The words of Christ, when treated like a covenant, not only to say but to do accordingly, places the emphasis back on equality, and a working middle-class, that bares one another’s burdens that they may be light.

Poverty is a disease that plagues the world, and the solution has almost nothing to do with money. The world has become a whore, selling it’s goods for money. In this world, we are deceived into thinking that you can buy anything with money. The more we subscribe to the idea, the more power the forces of the world have on your perception. Slavery and bondage have a death-grip hold on all who have invested in the idea of money, even if they don’t realize it. Armies and navies instill fear, false priests promote these false notions, using them to oppress men, and the source of all the deception rules and reigns with blood and horror on this earth. To get ahead in this world, you must be the victor of the tournament. You must be the most self-centered, self-promoted, self-marketed, self-ish, …or you cannot win the greed-tournament. Eventually, this world will be completely separated into two groups: The task-masters, and the slaves. The early success of America was the middle-class, but that is now a rare-breed. Rather than dying in poverty, the poor are willing to kill the next person, digging a pit for their neighbor to be buried in, so that they can get ahead in this world. The American Dream is Dead!

Ask yourself, “Why was a strong middle-class the foundation of America’s greatest success?” It is because the opposite of greed is equality, …and in an environment of equality the middle-class carries the load, with an even distribution. Bearing one another’s burdens that they may be light IS a strong middle-class. Ants benefit from a strong middle-class, as they bear their burdens equally, without a hierarchy. A disappearing middle-class is an indication of a society void of laborers. Those who withhold their labor cannot eat the bread or wear the garment of the laborer in Zion. The American Dream has mutated, and replaced a working mentality, with entertainment, vacationing, video-game playing, TV watching, movie watching, gladiator (athletics) spectating, music videos, dancing, hanging-out, and board games. We are highly distracted by keeping up with the Jones’ that the middle-class has disappeared, leaving the poor and the rich, and no one to carry the load. Equality is the solution to poverty, but equality has been redefined to promote slavery, and must be corrected if it will ever free us from bondage and captivity.

The words of Christ, when treated like a covenant, not only to say but to do accordingly, places the emphasis back on equality, and a working middle-class. They bear one another’s burdens, making it light. There’s no poor among them, because everyone works together, anxiously engaged in a good cause, producing abundance. Having no poor is a result of a strong middle-class. If the saints can maintain having no poor, and a strong middle-class, for a long period of time, …it makes for only one result,  abundance! Everyone gets rich together in one heart and one mind.

Conclusion: In our corporate mentality of institutionalism, even the best of us …are greedy! We lust, accumulate possessions, and hoard. When others are in need, we give some, while clenching on to the best things, fearing the loss of our earthly power, that we have acquired by digging pits for our neighbors. In our current position of greed, none of us would do well in Zion. If we walked into Zion under these ideals, we would be a deadly virus to that environment. It would be necessary for us to remain in quarantine until we were able to be taught principles of righteousness, and could prove to live it, not only to say but to do accordingly.

Those who center themselves upon the covenant of the scriptures will find that as their hearts and minds change to be one, their wants naturally turn outward to serving their fellow man. It isn’t by assignment. It’s genuine, and often spontaneous. They seek to bear one another’s burdens, rather than placing one above the next. We see and treat one another as equals, rather than bosses and subordinates. Within that environment light thrives, flourishes, and expands to fill all of Zion’s residences.

Our project has the potential to produce equality among us, to not only temporarily suppress poverty, but to eliminate the poor among us altogether. It can grow from our immediate families, and extend to our extended families and community friends. Ours is the potential of the breath of life returning to Hawaii, not only to say ALOHA, but to do accordingly.

Our entire upbringing was centered on life in the middle-class. As we have left the nest, seeking a position of the upper-class, the lifestyles of the rich and famous, we have temporarily left the trades of the middle-class, seeking to win the game of the world. However, we have never forgotten our upbringing, and our project has brought us back together to renew our love for one another, using the trades that once united our humble family, and provided for us and many others in whom we have assisted over time. I believe that we can abandon our entrepreneurial aspirations, architectural endeavors, engineering hopes, and medical achievements, and find more wealth and abundance in the trades than we could ever accomplished in our separate careers.

Let’s get back to work. We’ve been on break for far too long. Our parents aren’t getting any younger, but they are wiser now than they ever have been. Let’s perpetuate the wisdom of an equal-minded, middle-class strength once more, so that our family might qualify to be in Zion.

Symbolism Unrecognized (1011 Words)

Within the scriptures are Symbolism Unrecognized.

Lately, the story of Ammon at the waters of Sebus, keeps coming to mind as Symbolism Unrecognized. The story is the stuff of Mormon bed-time fame. So most of you remember the key parts, leading up to Ammon cutting-off the arms of the Lamanites scattering the flocks. It seems to fit in with Pirate Tales, Giant Slaying, and King Arthur killing dragons with excalibur. But, the story almost distracts from the the deeper symbolism being conveyed. Looking closer, there’s a message for us in the latter-day, concerning Zion.

I’ll quickly summarize the story, highlighting certain aspects, and get to the point. Take notice of the highlighted sections, and see if you can see the Symbolism that has gone Unrecognized.

Story Summary: Ammon is assigned to watch The King’s Flocks. He works with other servants of the king, and brings the sheep to The Waters of Sebus, to drink. At the waters of Sebus, Thieves come and scatter the flocks of the king, hoping to steal some for their own purposes. Ammon, seeing the servants crying for fear of being killed by the king, surrounds The Scattered Flocks, and Gathers them into one. Once the flocks are gathered, the thieves try scattering them once more. Ammon, exercising The Power of God, cuts-off The Arms of the thieves. Ammon returns to the king’s stables, to prepare the king’s Horse & Chariot, for the king to attend His Father’s Feast. That’s enough of a summary to give you an idea of Symbolism Unrecognized.

If you haven’t caught on to the Symbolism, I’ll explain each symbol:

  • Ammon- He is an anointed servant of the Lord. His father, King Mosiah, was a covenanted King in the heavens. Ammon’s protection was the covenant given to him and his father, Mosiah. He is what the Greek would call “Apostollos” or “one who is sent.”
  • The King’s Flocks- This echo’s back to Christ’s words in the book of John, when he said, “His sheep hear His voice.” Christ testified that He would send servants (Ammon) to protect His sheep. Christ is the real king, of whom we are His flocks, if we know Him.
  • The Thieves- These are the institutions who use ignorance and seek to oppress and take into captivity and bondage the children of Christ to profit off of devouring the life of the sheep. Busy, busy, busy, is their tactic to enslave and fatten their bellies.
  • Sebus- The word in semitic translates, “to gather/assemble people.” In Egyptian it is, “a lake of initiation.” (Etymology of Sebus from Harold B. Lee Library) The waters of Sebus is the destination Ammon took the king’s sheep (or the Lord’s people), to be gathered, and to be initiated.
  • To Drink- A type of Christ, the waters of life, the fountain of pure water, etc.
  • Gathering the Scattered- This is the prophecy of our day, that when the Gentiles reject the fulness, then will the remnant of Jacob be gathered to become a lion amongst the beast of the forest (3 Nephi 16)
  • The Power of God- The priesthood, given to man, by the mouth of God (not by father, or mother, or by blood, but by God). It is the sword of God.
  • The Arms- Within the right arm, raised to the square, is the entire plan of salvation conveyed. It follows the pattern of the three facsimile’s of Abraham: fac#1: the sacrifice of all things laid down (upper arm parallel to the earth), fac#2: the ascension (the forearm perpendicular to the earth), fac#3: and the coronation of the king (the hand, with fingers close together, and thumb extended, forms the image of a crown- props to our little bro. Kaena for this one)
  • Arms Cut-Off- Ammon, acting as a servant, condemns the thieves by cutting off their salvation (symbolized in their arms). They will not ascend to be coronated on the throne of God, because their arms were cut off. Their sacrifice was unaccepted, like Cain. They cannot ascend. And they will not be coronated in the Kingdom of God.
  • Horse & Chariot- These are well known in ancient cultures as the vehicle of the fiery ascent. Elijah ascended on a fiery chariot. Ammon, acting as a servant to the Lord prepares the vehicle of ascent for King Lamoni.
  • The Father’s Feast- The wedding feast is where a King is anointed and crowned.

The Point: Beyond the story is an invitation to Zion. Israel has been scattered, and is NOW being gathered by an Ammon figure. In the effort of gathering, thieves have exercised their authority unrighteously, and their arms have been cut-off, leaving them with no priesthood authority. Zion cannot be overtaken once they are gathered. That is why the only safety will be in Zion. Those who belong to Zion access the ascension with horses and chariots, to join the wedding feast of the Father, just as King Lamoni did.

Conclusion: Recently, a friend of mine expressed his concern about my standing “in the church.” He was kind enough to reach out, share with me some scriptures about the need for tithing to be paid to the priest, and to bear testimony that I’m off the beaten path (in a nice way). He explained his testimony was as simple as the 2,000 stripling warriors, “they never doubted, their mother’s knew it,” is what my friend quoted.

Simple? Did he not read that their father’s were massacred, in the name of a covenant? Did he not see that the covenant was initiated by King Lamoni’s ascent into the heavens? The Symbolism Unrecognized caused my friend to underestimate the work required of us NOW, reducing that covenant to describing it as “simple,” and being satisfied to give his tithes to the priest in office, while ignoring the necessity for us to lift the poor among us, and ascend. In ignorance, we find complacency, lulling ourselves to sleep, saying, “All is well in Zion, behold all is well.” Thus, the deceiver adds more flaxen chord, and binds us, as if chained, to hell.

Open your eyes, awake, and arise!

An Everlasting Work (1595 Words Long and Hard)

This blog was intended for conversation, so let’s talk story. Every comment I write on this blog, although against the popular opinions of the family (particularly Mom), is focused NOT on the dark of the Church, but on the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. My work is towards my family, first and foremost.

Let’s Talk Story: Whenever I choose to respond, it is not to put you down, to compare my greatness to your insignificance, or to make me above you, …although that is what I am constantly accused of. I see opportunity to provide customized application to the words of Christ, befitting our family. That is why I constantly quote scriptures, within proper context, and further expound them, explaining them in plainness, hoping that your hearts will soften to recognize the pure intelligence that accompany them. Talking story allows us to reason with one another. And if that means butting heads a little with the hardest of heads (Mom), I’m willing to do that, within reason. The scriptures are a source of light from the treasury of heaven. Whenever light is introduced, darkness is dispelled. Those with hard hearts, who will not receive the light, are always dispelled along with the darkness, because the darkness comprehends it NOT.

The Work: The real work is obtaining light, while gradually separating from the dark. It is necessary for everyone to separate themselves from the dark, to avoid being cast-off because of our failure to comprehend the light. However, in the loooooong absence of light (173 Years since Joseph & Hyrum died), men become accustomed to working in the dark, until things of darkness become acceptable, then comfortable, and then embraced. Even the pure in heart (which I know you are) are startled when pure light is introduced. Having been conditioned so long to the dark, requires constant and diligent effort to first: accumulate and cleave unto greater light (Words of Christ), and second: simultaneously peal-off traditions of darkness (Repent). You cannot repent without first knowing the words of Christ. Otherwise, how will you know what to repent of? Jacob refers to pealing off the darkness, in the allegory of the olive tree, as the offensive pruning of unproductive branches. Every comment I write on this blog, although against the popular opinions of the family (particularly Mom), is focused NOT on the dark of the Mormon Church, but on the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. But, long traditions of dark have been deeply rooted, requiring a greater effort of offensive pruning on my part. And I am not afraid of the hard work required to do it. YOU ARE MY OBJECTIVE!

Mom has pretty much instructed me, in her last comment, to go and do my work, and leave us alone. YOU ARE MY WORK! My work is towards my family, first and foremost. She has accused me of pecking at the same old arguments (primary songs, etc.), and the same old year-old mistake, attributing my efforts as simply resentful and hostile, and as a result of an individual abusive circumstance, …and I am painting my negative opinions over the whole of the innocent leaders of this great church. She, knowing the circumstances of her son being cast out, now labels me as rejecting them, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, when it is THEY who have cast me, her son, out. When will you stop defending your darkness, study the scriptures generating everlasting light, and shape up? Moroni asked:

Mormon 9:31-39

“31. Yea, it shall come in a day when there shall be great pollutions upon the face of the earth; there shall be murders, and robbing, and lying, and deceivings, and whoredoms, and all manner of abominations; when there shall be many who will say, Do this, or do that, and it mattereth not, for the Lord will uphold such at the last day. But wo unto such, for they are in the gall of bitterness and in the bonds of iniquity.

32. Yea, it shall come in a day when there shall be churches built up that shall say: Come unto me, and for your money you shall be forgiven of your sins. {requiring a specified amount of tithing, to obtain a temple recommend, fits this category}

33. O ye wicked and perverse and stiffnecked people, why have ye built up churches unto yourselves to get gain? Why have ye transfigured the holy word of God, that ye might bring damnation upon your souls? Behold, look ye unto the revelations of God; for behold, the time cometh at that day when all these things must be fulfilled.

34. Behold, the Lord hath shown unto me great and marvelous things concerning that which must shortly come, at that day when these things shall come forth among you.

35. Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not. But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing.”

Mormon gave the plates to Moroni, and it is Moroni speaking to you. The next person to read Moroni’s words was Joseph Smith. He is speaking to US. He speaks as if you are present. Take what he says next very personally. He has seen you and what you are now faced with. He offers you light, so that you can shake off the chains of darkness that bind you. Channel into your pure hearts, and hear the voice of the Lord in what Moroni writes next:

“36. And I know that ye do walk in the pride of your hearts; and there are none save a few only who do not lift themselves up in the pride of their hearts, unto the wearing of very fine apparel, unto envying, and strifes, and malice, and persecutions, and all manner of iniquities; and your churches, yea, even every one, have become polluted because of the pride of your hearts.

37. For behold, ye do love money, and your substance, and your fine apparel, and the adorning of your churches, more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted.”

Moroni saw our day and said that “every church” has become polluted. That’s a high percentage of churches, …EVERY! You don’t even need to know Greek or Latin to see it. It’s plain! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aren’t excluded. They love money and substances. Come between the church and their money and you have painted a target on your back. You should know this is true better than most, as you have experienced first hand the abuse at BYU-Hawaii and PCC, and their frivolous firing of productive employees, while they protect themselves from law suits, keeping unproductive employees in good standing. Our temples are opulent. And when I attempt to help the poor among me, my temple recommend was revoked? The buildings of the institution are very well adorned, and the church loves their buildings more than they love the poor and needy, the sick and afflicted, that Mom substitute teaches for, so she can help her sick daughter raise her children, without sufficient assistance. Yet, she will defend their actions, ignoring the words of Christ being offered to her by me, her son.

Conclusion: You are free to choose, but I will call it out as I see it, so that your choice is sealed upon you, and you cannot point the finger anywhere else but to yourselves. A little while longer and you will not have to be discomforted by my words:

1 Nephi 14:7

“7. For the time cometh, saith the Lamb of God, that I will work a great and a marvelous work among the children of men; a work which shall be everlasting, either on the one hand or on the other—either to the convincing of them unto peace and life eternal, or unto the deliverance of them to the hardness of their hearts and the blindness of their minds unto their being brought down into captivity, and also into destruction, both temporally and spiritually, according to the captivity of the devil, of which I have spoken.

I am engaged in An Everlasting Work! I am coming for YOU! Although the work is everlasting, don’t confuse everlasting work to be generally positive, uplifting, building, warm, and feel-good. It all depends on how you respond to the words of Christ being offered. Either you will be convinced unto peace and life eternal, by seeking diligently the words of Christ …OR you will harden your hearts to what I have written, by continuing to treat lightly the words of Christ being addressed hear. In the hardness of your hearts, your minds will be blinded, and you will not see what I have been pointing to for ten years. Your ties to this world, through the institutions you cling to, religious, educational, and financial, will seal your fate in captivity and destruction, both temporally and spiritually, just as Moroni has spoken.

I would prefer a different kind of conversation, based on scriptures, and not defending and offending. But conversations like that are rare in our case, so I’ll take what I can get, even though it requires being exposed to some offensive pruning. Considering the difficulty that the missionaries had, converting Mom to Mormonism from Catholicism, why should it be easy for me to persuade her to actually read the scriptures and have an intelligent conversation, based solely on doctrine? If that work costs me my family, my relationships, and my life, I am not afraid of that work, because it is Christ’s.

Awake and Arise!
