Last Shall Be First (1565 Words)

The prophesy that the Last Shall Be First is a marker for the last days. Everyone must self-identify by what you choose as most important. Those who are His sheep will hear His voice, whether it is by His voice or the voice of whom He chooses as a servant, it is the same.

The Last Shall Be First points to the gathering of the repentant gentiles. After Christ’s resurrection, the apostles were permitted to teach the gospel to the gentiles for the first time. They were the last to be preached to, as the gentiles were categorized as everyone else. In mercy, the Lord extended His invitation to all, but did He? Truth is, even though the Lord extended the invitation to all, He also knew that only His sheep would hear His voice and be gathered. So the gospel went to the gentiles, for the purpose of finding His sheep among them. The Lord repeatedly teaches that He will not leave His sheep comfortless. He promised that He would gather them. The question has always been, who are His sheep?

Since the gentiles were last, the prophesy states that the Last Shall Be First. Joseph Smith, in the Kirtland dedicatory prayer, identified the saints as being associated with the gentiles (D&C 109:60). Nephi, in chapter 13 & 14 of 1Nephi, tells of the founders of America as gentiles, and the restoration coming through the gentiles, supporting Joseph Smith’s identification, at the dedication of the Kirtland temple, as the LDS being gentiles too (1Nephi 13:34-42). The Book of Mormon supports the truths of the Bible, just as it was supposed to, but the LDS gentile saints have been under condemnation for not applying it’s truths since 1832, less than three years after being established as a church (D&C 84:54-58). At one point the LDS church cut out the lectures on faith (1922), and by the 1950’s BYU professors were trying to get rid of the Book of Mormon altogether, saying that it was pushing some of the greatest minds out of the church. It wasn’t until the 1960’s that BYU offered a Book of Mormon class and made it mandatory for freshmen to take, only after Hugh Nibley made an argument of it’s legitimacy, through ancient archeological records. Still, the LDS saints didn’t take the Book of Mormon seriously, until Ezra Taft Benson reprimanded the saints in 1986, telling them that the condemnation of 1832 is still the churches condemnation in 1986. Despite the church’s multi-billion dollar corporation status, it has failed to have the condemnation removed by the Lord as a whole, playing right into the prophesy of the last days gentiles, made by the Lord Himself in the Americas, that they would reject “HIS” fulness (which is received in the presence of the Lord in the flesh):

 3 Nephi 16:10-16

“10. And thus commandeth the Father that I should say unto you: At that day when the Gentiles shall sin against my gospel, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, and shall be lifted up in the pride of their hearts above all nations, and above all the people of the whole earth, and shall be filled with all manner of lyings, and of deceits, and of mischiefs, and all manner of hypocrisy, and murders, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, and of secret abominations; and if they shall do all those things, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, behold, saith the Father, I will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them.”

When the fulness is rejected, the Lord takes the offering of His fulness from among the gentiles, such that they cannot have it because they reject it. Those who reject the gift only do so by not receiving it. The presence of the Lord in the flesh is the invitation of the fulness, written in the Book of Mormon. But the condemnation of the LDS gentile saints is proof of the rejection of the invitation for the fulness because they failed to repent and remember the covenant of the Book of Mormon, not only to say, but to do accordingly (D&C 84:57). When the LDS gentile saints reject the fulness, then…

“11. And then will I remember my covenant which I have made unto my people, O house of Israel, and I will bring my gospel unto them.

12. And I will show unto thee, O house of Israel, that the Gentiles shall not have power over you; but I will remember my covenant unto you, O house of Israel, and ye shall come unto the knowledge of the fulness of my gospel.”

Here the Lord promises the House of Israel, whoever that is, to come to a knowledge “OF” the fulness. Right now, in the traditions of the world, those who are the House of Israel don’t even realize that seeing the Lord in the flesh is even possible to them. They have been filled with unbelief’s. Here, the Lord says that they will finally believe it, …and the FAHER said that some of the repentant LDS gentile saints can too:

“13. But if the Gentiles will repent and return unto me, saith the Father, behold they shall be numbered among my people, O house of Israel.

14. And I will not suffer my people, who are of the house of Israel, to go through among them, and tread them down, saith the Father.

15. But if they will not turn unto me, and hearken unto my voice, I will suffer them, yea, I will suffer my people, O house of Israel, that they shall go through among them, and shall tread them down, and they shall be as salt that hath lost its savor, which is thenceforth good for nothing but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of my people, O house of Israel.

16. Verily, verily, I say unto you, thus hath the Father commanded me—that I should give unto this people this land for their inheritance.”

A land of inheritance awaits the House of Israel who self-identify by removing the condemnation, not only saying, but doing as it has been given. Not only is the fulness being offered, it is required of all who would be numbered as House of Israel, preserved from the lion who goes through and teareth to pieces and treads down.

Recently, a scripture came to mind, and a different understanding popped up out of nowhere.

3 Nephi 13:33

“33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Seek “first” was not an instruction of order, where you first serve a mission, then you get an occupation and get rich. Sadly, I did think that at one point in my life. It’s not a checklist item like pay your tithing and your financial worries will somehow mend itself, or give one day to the Lord a week, and you will gain treasures of the earth, …another idea hinted at, eluded to, and hoped for, as a tradition of false belief, or unbelief, in the LDS mentality. Rather, seeking first, was intended as “most important,” …meaning more importantly than anything else, everything else, all the time. This is the kind of attitude that  makes God and His kingdom the central reason for all things. Everyone must self-identify by what you choose as most important, at all times, and in all places.

Those who are His sheep will hear His voice, whether it is by His voice or the voice of whom He chooses as a servant, it is the same.

Conclusion: The day of the gentile began at the resurrection of Christ. The sign of the end of the day of the gentile, in my opinion, is the eclipse that cut across America alone, on Aug 21, 2017. An honest reading of 3 Nephi 16, and 2 Nephi 28, clearly identifies the condition of the LDS church, who has failed, and continues to fail at removing the condemnation of 1832.

The realization of Revelations 12 has been in our skies since November 2016, as Jupiter entered the womb of the star constellation Virgo. As recently as Sept 9, 2017 Jupiter has left the womb of Virgo, a symbolic birth of the King Planet, after spending nine months within Virgo’s belly (the normal length of human gestation). On September 23, 2017 the royal family will be “crowned” by twelve stars (9 in Leo, the Lion of Israel constellation, and 3 planets: Mercury, Venus, and Mars) atop the head of the constellation Virgo, clothed in the sun (“robes” of light), with the moon at her feet (feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace), as told in Rev 12:1-2. All kinds of assumptions are being made, as people read their traditions into the Book of Revelations. That book was written for our day. Joseph Smith considered it the easiest book to read. It was written for those who know ye the Lord, who have laid hold on Him, for their preparation for His appearance. Read the entire chapter with the “KEY” knowledge or understanding that the woman is wisdom, or revelation, and the child is the birth of the kingdom of God, or the family of God, or in other words Zion.

Suddenly, what Christ wrote concerning the end of the day of the gentiles coincides with the birth of the kingdom of God, the family of God, or Zion, …made known through signs in the heavens, …in fulfillment to prophesy in the Book of Revelations. These are exciting times we live in.

Faith is Required (1333 Words)

From the time of Adam, until now, the same Faith is Required. In the story of Lehi’s family, we learn that every person will follow one of two patterns of faith. What pattern will you choose to follow?

From Adam until now, the test is the same, and passing the test requires the same faith, …even great faith. As God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, …faith grows exactly the same then, as it does now, and as it will in the future. The reason scriptures matter so much is because the faith required of ancient saints is precisely the same faith required of modern saints. The pattern of Nephi’s faith is not restricted to church leaders. It is a pattern meant for each individual who has eyes that see, and ears that hear, male or female, from the least to the greatest, to apply. We know the story, but consider the summary anyway.

In the story of Lehi’s family, we learn that every person will follow one of two patterns of faith. Either you can choose to grow your faith as Nephi did, until you enter into the presence of the Lord in the flesh, …or you can ignore the words of Christ, and follow the pattern of Laman and Lemuel’s faith. The scriptures are funny in that you exercise faith by studying it, or you reject the Book of Mormon by giving heed to it. Likewise with a covenant, those who receive it must say and do it. But those who reject the covenant only need pay it no attention. Consider the two options in the lives of brothers.

Nephi is a good person, like all of you. His father, Lehi, was cast out of the Jewish church (the apostate Mormons of their day), being threatened to be stoned to death. It took a certain degree of faith for Nephi to retrieve the plates from the leader of the church (Laban), with the threat of possibly loosing his life, looming overhead. The faith necessary for Nephi to acquire the plates had to exceed the faith of his three older brothers, waiting outside the city walls.

You gotta wonder what’s going through their minds, as they are left all alone in the wilderness, dad being excommunicated, Nephi cutting off the head of Laban, and literally stealing the plates. By common law, Nephi’s hands should be cut off for stealing, and he should be killed for murdering, and tortured for murdering a church leader, to boot. Lehi is also guilty of the same crimes because he was the one behind all of it. Laman and Lemuel wouldn’t go to the same extreme to retrieve the plates, having insufficient faith. But, they logically and rationally battled within themselves, trying to decide if they shouldn’t be the ones to execute the law of the land, by killing their father and younger brother. Their false traditions of unbelief, established by the Jewish church, were so deeply engrained, that they would die for it. Or in this case, Laman and Lemuel wouldn’t kill their church leaders, but they would kill their brother and father, to defend their false traditions of unbelief.

When Lehi told his family of his dream, Nephi’s faith went through another growth spurt, as we find Nephi struggling at the base of the mountain, pondering and wanting to know what his father was trying to tell them in his dream. Nephi knew that he believed all the words of his father, despite Lehi being badly rejected of the commonly acceptable church, …but to Nephi, knowing his dad knew it wasn’t enough! He sought to know for himself, and because of that, an angle did visit him. It was an angel of the highest degree. It was “The Great Angel,” even Jesus Christ. The tile “Lord Sabaoth” literally means Lord of the hosts of heaven, …anciently: “The Great Angel.”

Laman and Lemuel, although they went into the wilderness with Lehi, failed to lay hold upon the words of Christ for themselves. Their faith failed them when retrieving the plates. Their faith failed them as they sought to kill their father and brother. Their faith failed them in hunger. Their faith failed them crossing the ocean. And their faith failed them when they separated their families, passing on their ignorance many generations after them. They wouldn’t read for themselves, using the excuse that God makes no such thing known to them. They rejected the words of Christ, not by doing something to the records, …but by simply not reading them, not seeking diligently to understand them. Because they rejected the words of Christ, they found legitimate reason to rebel against a servant of Christ in their family members, …in their father and in their little brother. You would think that because they were family, they would have had an advantage because they knew the hearts of their father and brother. But being related to the prophet served as no advantage because of their lack of faith. Having rejected the words of Christ, and the servant of Christ was sufficient to communicate to God and His witnesses that they also rejected Christ Himself.

The faith of Nephi is a pattern available to all of us, if we have eyes to see, and ears to hear. We understand the physical odds facing Nephi when he retrieved the plates. We too must face physical odds as did Nephi. However, the growth of Nephi’s faith to believe in and acquire his personal witness of Christ was far greater than the physical odds of retrieving the plates. After Nephi had a personal witness of Christ, Nephi is able to endure far greater trials, doing precisely what is asked of him by the Lord, even when his father’s faith failed him with hunger, his brothers tie him to the mast of the ship, and eventually try to kill him, his wife, and his children. Nephi’s faith wasn’t dependent on any man, not his father, and not a prophet, …because he knew Christ for himself.

There are two patterns that everyone on earth must choose: accept or reject the words of Christ. To reject, nothing is required of you. God assumes rejection by the absence of acceptance. There are two doctrines being pitched in this world. Their are two ways. There are two masters. In the story of Lehi’s family, there are two patterns of faith expressed. Which pattern are you going to follow?

Conclusion: From the time of Adam, until now, the same Faith is Required. No one can take your place on the judgement seat, but Christ. Only He has atoned for you. He will redeem you from the fall if you do not reject Him. Doing nothing is the same as rejecting Him. No one can do the work of accepting for you. You must do it if you want it, otherwise you are rejecting your redemption. No one can substitute for your labor of diligently searching (seeing) the words of Christ. No one can do the hearing of the voice of the Lord through the servant of Christ. And no one can enter into the presence of Christ in your place.

The times might change. Circumstances might be unique to our day. People may differ from persecutors in the past. But the same Faith is Required for all men to be redeemed from the fall. Receive the covenant by taking seriously the words of Christ, and you will not see me so offensive. Instead you will recognize the words I speak align with the words of Christ in the scriptures. When you do, you will naturally hear the false traditions of unbelief that has been filling your empty minds for so long, taking the place where truth should reside. In order for truth and light to accumulate, foolish traditions of unbelief must be removed. They cannot co-exist. You must choose this day, and every day, from here on out who you will serve, …and then act like it!

OLD SCHOOL! (1236 Words)

The Facsimiles of Abraham has been scrutinized by archeologists for years, and the church education system seems to be swaying their way, denouncing Joseph Smith’s prophetic understanding. With correct knowledge, you are able to see through the deceptions, but in ignorance you will blow away with the wind. Only through diligently seeking can one acquire the necessary knowledge to obtain salvation and exaltation. Correct knowledge is OLD SCHOOL!

Mom’s last comment identified my understanding of “work in progress” as twisted. I respond by expressing a strait and narrow path is not necessarily straight (AKA: without twists and turns). It is the wisdom and knowledge, working together, that produces the kind of confidence that waxes strong in the sight of God. It was true since Adam, and it is true today. The problems that mankind faced anciently are no different than the problems we face today, when you look at the core of the problem. Adam faced what you must face. It is the same mess, and requires the same faith of the ancient of days. Therefore the wisdom and knowledge of the ancients is OLD SCHOOL!

The Facsimiles of Abraham has been scrutinized by archeologists for years, and the church education system seems to be swaying their way, denouncing Joseph Smith’s prophetic understanding of the facsimiles. I disagree with archeologists and CES on the validity of Joseph Smith, how he used the facsimiles, and the validity of the book of Abraham. Consider the reasoning: There are three ages of Egypt:

  1. Old Egypt,
  2. Middle Egypt,
  3. and Late Egypt.

Artifacts exist of Old Egypt, but they are rare. They are found in the pyramid texts. The common theme of Old Egypt is a “literal ascent,” …and a very real battle against Set, or Satan. Middle Egypt is much younger, and has a very different theme being taught in archeological findings of coffin texts, the book of the dead, and the book of breathings. Middle Egypt differs from the emphasis of Old Egypt (literal ascent), by emphasizing a “ritual ascent.” A ritual ascent is an ascension only symbolized in a ritual ceremony, rather than expectation of a literal ascent. Late Egypt dilutes the matter further, reducing the matter to a judgement after death, or “last rites” placed under the head of the dead, to chart their path in the afterlife. The facsimiles in the book of Abraham are Late Egypt drawings, but how they were applied by Joseph Smith deserves much greater observation by archeologists and CES directors alike.

Archeologists have been using the facsimiles in the book of Abraham to discredit Joseph Smith’s interpretations and translations for years. However, the book of Abraham wasn’t translated from the facsimiles, like archeologists have assumed. The Church Educational System is beginning to agree with the point of archeologists, recognizing that the facsimiles in Abraham don’t fit the time frame of the life of Abraham at all. Late Egypt happened during the time of Moses, which is calculated to be over 800 years after Abraham. CES is now questioning the validity of the book of Abraham, placing Joseph Smith’s imperfection as accountable for the mistake.

With correct knowledge, you are able to see through the deceptions, …while ignorance will blow you away in the wind. Many artifacts have been uncovered significantly after the death of Joseph Smith, justifying that the facsimiles were Late Egyptian. But Joseph never claimed them to be Old Egyptian (Pyramid texts). Alls that Joseph did was use the facsimiles of Late Egypt, to tell a story of Old Egypt. He used Middle Egypt ritual ascension to express Old Egyptian literal ascension. It all pointed to ascension through the heavens. That is Joseph Smith’s message. That is the message of the Book of Mormon too.

At the restoration, Joseph constantly preached ascension, calling and election made sure, exaltation and eternal life, coming into the presence of Christ and God while in the flesh. He taught it because he had done it, and could recognize the patterns in the Book of Mormon texts, even in Late Egyptian facsimiles. However, Mormonism has followed the same pattern, regarding their opinions on ascension. We have gone from teaching a literal ascension (Old Mormonism), to a ritual ascension (Middle Mormonism), and now a judgement day when we die (Late Mormonism). Hawaii, I believe, has followed the same pattern. Consider the Hula as Middle Hawaii, and our Haole Hula as Late Hawaiian. You gotta ask yourself, …what was Old Hawaii? What was Old Maori? What was Old Native American? What was old Scandinavian? What was old Chinese? Our ignorance has led us astray, and blowing in the wind of foolish traditions. It’s time to go OLD SCHOOL!

With correct knowledge of ascension, you are able to see through the deceptions of the world in the middle and late traditions. Ascension can only be acquired through diligently seeking the words of Christ, without being boxed in with false traditions of men, thinking in terms of the only true church, while excluding significant truths, only to maintain the status quo. All truth is circumscribed into one great whole, and that is Christ. Those who are of Christ’s church must receive ALL TRUTH! Not one iota of truth can be excluded. That’s OLD SCHOOL!

Conclusion: I am not a follower of men, and will never be. We were raised to follow good men, and I am grateful for that. It has allowed me to identify truth, when I hear it, …to collect and stand on that truth in faith. I no longer trust in the arm of flesh, but in God alone. Because of my stance on truth, many in this movement have considered me the devil and dark, because I will not conform to their rules, but would rather freely govern myself by true principles. I find comfort in the truth, despite the feeling of possibly not being part of this movement, and not being part of the LDS “true church” culture, leaving me to twiddle my thumbs all alone. It is my understanding that “the truth” gathers. I believe that the gathering of Israel is upon us.

This weekend the Lord offers a covenant to a people, through the Book of Mormon. Since the publishing of the Book of Mormon, there has never been a people, not even the LDS church, who have covenanted to be accountable to live by it’s teachings, and to be judged by it’s contents. Historically, the LDS have done so with the D&C, and then they have changed it’s contents, to justify their ignorance much later, falling into apostasy. I will be partaking of the Book of Mormon covenant this Sunday 3 Sept 2017, in Boise, Idaho. You can take that covenant too, right where you are, by accepting to live by and be judged by that document too. The common theme throughout the Book of Mormon is that if a people live according to it, they will prosper in the land. I wish that for you.

The spirit of gathering is not only stirring here, it is stirring everywhere. Zion is it’s centroid. Check out this youtube video of how Chinese characters teach the plan of salvation, and you will see an example of what’s happening all over the world right now. The Lord is working a mighty work and wonder about us right now. It’s amazing.

The name of the video is: God in Ancient China.

Her Faith Made Her Whole… (924 Words)

Concerning faith, correct belief, directing action, producing power, and becoming unshaken, …Mom asked about the woman in the crowd, who touched Christ’s hem, and Her Faith Made Her Whole. Rather than directly addressing Mom’s last comment, let’s recount the story. After all, it’s for conversations like this that this blog exists, isn’t it? Let’s talk story, …scripture stories:

To sum up the story, there was a woman who had issues (jokes). A woman had an “issue of blood” for twelve years. The most common understanding of an “issue of blood” is hemorrhage (natural or diseased). It had gone on for twelve years, and none of the doctors could fix it. All of this woman’s money had been spent on doctor treatments (we all know how doctor bills can pile up), and nothing worked. In fact, it was getting worse (Mark5:25-26).

To make a bad matter worse, Jewish law declares her as ceremonially unclean (Leviticus15:25-27), restricting her from participating in temple rites. Worse than her temple recommend being revoked, anything she touched became unclean too. In a crowded street, anyone touching her was also considered unclean by law- including Jesus.

Mark 5:27-29

“27. When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

28. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

29. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.”

Christ, looking around, said, “Who touched my clothes?” Those with him looked at him bewildered, as it was obvious that they were in a crowd with lots of people touching Christ. But, Christ spoke of who touched Him in a way that caused virtue to go out of Him. The exchange between Christ and the woman with issues (jokes) is interesting to consider, concerning faith:

“33. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

34. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”

The woman fearfully confessed what she had done, and that she was miraculously healed, she falls down and confesses all she did. She told Him all the truth (this is unknown what she told Him, leaving a gap to ponder). And this is when Christ responds, telling the woman that it was “HER FAITH” that made her whole.

The faith of the woman isn’t expounded upon, and is left for the reader to ponder. The material to consider, when pondering the faith of the woman, is in the set-up of the story, not in the miracle. The miracle is only the sign that follows faith, because faith doesn’t follow signs. Signs follow those that believe (Ether 4:18). She had a medical problem for 12 years, that doctors couldn’t fix, leaving her penniless. She was cast out as unclean, no access to temple rites, and if touched, her filth was communicable. In her humbled state, how would you deal with it?

I’ll venture to guess what she did in preparation, reflecting upon my own experience, dealing with life “issues” for almost twelve years now. From my own experience, I searched church authorities, programs, and counseling, and they’ve taken my money, only to offer no relief. I was cast out, and considered unclean, so to speak. Those associated with me, if they think as I do, are considered unclean too. I know, I know, it’s not about me, and I don’t think that her situation matches my own at all (a far stretch). But, hey, I’m flexible, so lets stretch a little, in effort to ponder this woman’s situation as best as we can. You know, trying to apply the scriptures? Hmmm, what a concept!

The leading question is, what would I do, if I were her, that would lead me to exercising great faith, to syphon virtue from Christ? I would have sought God in prayer, in study, in effort to become personally familiar with His words (especially when the brightest men have failed at helping me). Having been familiar with the teachings of God, I would recognize that Christ was the literal son of God, because the scriptures told me so. Despite the ridicule of uncleanness, I would exercise my faith by taking action, enduring the negative things others thought of me or how they treated me, to make my way to Christ. And when I saw Christ in the crowd of people, I would reach out and touch His hem.

That is how I see it, why Christ could honestly attribute the healing, to her faith. Her Faith Made Her Whole. That is not to take away any credit for the virtue that left Christ to heal her. Christ continually offers us His virtue. Our problem is our ability to receive it. How long would He have gathered you? The problem is you would not! The woman’s faith wasn’t something that just popped up out of nowhere, without correct knowledge, without action, and powerless. On the contrary, she correctly knew that Christ was who He claimed to be. She had practiced unbelief for 12 years, seeking to be healed of those who couldn’t heal. When she had correct knowledge and acted upon it, it produced power sufficient to be healed.

Conclusion: We cannot underestimate faith, disregarding the work necessary to produce power. Correct belief is absolutely necessary in order for action to turn into power. Until we have correct belief, we will always have “issues,” …even “bloody issues.” Your faith can make you whole, just as Her Faith Made Her Whole. Lets get faith right and follow Christ alone!

Overcome by Faith (954 Words)

Exercising faith requires a correct knowledge, and action aligned with correct knowledge, in order to produce POWER to Overcome by Faith. The process of welding, purifying gold, and washing clothes are all directly related to having Overcome by Faith.

Exercising faith requires a correct knowledge, and action aligned with correct knowledge, in order to produce POWER sufficient to Overcome by Faith. Faith is an assurance of things hoped for, that are not yet seen. Assurance (or confidence) is obtained when correct knowledge provides a clear path of understanding. When a clear path is understood, faith translates into confident action, and eventually develops into POWER. All intelligent beings are creatures of faith. But in order for anyone to have an assurance, take action, develop POWER, and Overcome by Faith, …their faith must first be based on “correct knowledge,” …otherwise it is unbelief. Unbelief is NOT an inability to believe, after all everyone believes in something. Unbelief is incorrect belief, because it is based upon “incorrect knowledge.” Incorrect belief produces incorrect action, making it impossible to develop POWER and Overcome by Faith. However, once correct knowledge is acquired, that is the first obstacle to Overcome by Faith. The next obstacle is often referred to as the refiner’s fire, and that directly relates to acting according to what you correctly understand.

3 Nephi 24:2-4

“2. But who may abide the day of his coming, and who shall stand when he appeareth? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fuller’s soap.

3. And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.

4. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years.”

My son and I have enrolled in a MIG Welding course, which has got me in the mindset of working with steel. It is connected to a refiner’s fire and fullers soap. When welding two pieces of steel together, welding wire is used, coated with flux. Flux is a chemical that removes impurities from the weld and the two pieces being welded, when it is extremely heated, so that the bond is pure, as if they were ONE. The impurities are drawn away from the weld and two pieces, forming slag atop the weld. In order to determine the quality of the weld, wether or not it will hold together, the slag of impurities must be chipped off, so the weld can be inspected. Flux, heat, and removal of slag is the process of a welder, or a refiner. Purifying gold follows the same process. Flux is added to gold dust, heat is applied, and the slag is removed, leaving a purified gold. If it isn’t 99.9% pure, the process is repeated, until the impurities are all removed. Flux, heat, and removal of slag is the process of a refiner of gold. Fuller’s soap was used to clean linen, removing impurities from the cloth, leaving it white and pure. The process of cleaning was to beat the soap into the fibers of the cloth, to separate the impurities of oil and grease from the material. In all three processes there are three commonalities:

  • The work is purification
  • The purification process can be harsh and difficult
  • The Lord is the welder, the refiner, or the launderer

Those who expect to abide the coming of the Lord must be refined. The refiner’s fire is taking a correct understanding, and acting as you correctly understand. It’s in the action that you feel the burn. That’s where difficulty is increased. It hurts, it’s harsh, and often extremely difficult. It was intended to remove impurities in you through the heat of the refiner’s fire, to chip off the slag, revealing a binding weld, to last into the eternities.

Ether 12:27

“27. And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humblethemselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weakthings become strong unto them.”

It is foolishness for us to think that we can skate through this life avoiding the pain of the refiner’s fire, cold and ignorant, and still expect to be pure in the end. Correct knowledge produces action, and action produces POWER, until you have Overcome by Faith.

Conclusion: Correct knowledge comes from searching, pondering, and receiving revelation to understand the words of Christ (past, present, and future). Assurance (or confidence) increases with correct knowledge to a degree that produces motivation to take action. Acting in alignment to correct knowledge, is the refiner’s fire that removes impurities. If faith is an assurance, and exercising faith is taking action, repeatedly acting on correct knowledge produces POWER, leading to Overcoming by Faith:

D&C 76:53-55

“53. And who Overcome by Faith, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, which the Father sheds forth upon all those who are just and true.

54. They are they who are the church of the Firstborn.

55. They are they into whose hands the Father has given all things”

Those who Overcome by Faith, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of Promise, are the only ones belonging to the Church of the Firstborn. Many obstacles stand as a veil between us and returning to the presence of the Lord in the flesh. Those who will have faith by acquiring correct knowledge, exercise faith by acting on that knowledge, will develop sufficient POWER to Overcome by Faith all obstacles standing in the way of passing through the veil.

Hypocrisy and Guile (843 Words)

There are two attributes we are instructed to avoid: Hypocrisy and Guile. Exercising faith requires action to align with belief, otherwise it is Hypocrisy. Sincerity indicates a pure heart, ulterior motives express Guile. To be without Hypocrisy and Guile is to align your actions with your understanding of God, and sincerely seek more.

There are two attributes we are instructed to avoid when wielding power or influence: Hypocrisy and Guile.

D&C 121:41-42

“41. No power or influence can or ought to be maintained by virtue of the priesthood, only by persuasion, by long-suffering, by gentleness and meekness, and by love unfeigned;

42. By kindness, and pure knowledge, which shall greatly enlarge the soul without hypocrisy, and without guile

  • Hypocrisy: the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one’s own behavior does not conform.
  • Guile: sly or cunning intelligence.

Faith is an assurance of things hoped for, but not seen. To be “assured” is to have confidence. Fear erodes assurance/confidence, therefore it is the opposite of faith. The more understanding we have, our assurance/confidence grows in that thing, …until faith overcomes fear and produces ACTION.

D&C 76:53-55

“53. And who overcome by faith, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, which the Father sheds forth upon all those who are just and true.

54. They are they who are the church of the Firstborn.

55. They are they into whose hands the Father has given all things

To overcome by faith is to have grown your faith, until it is greater than all tasks or obstacles on your path to return to your Father in heaven. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ rely’s wholly upon what you understand of Him. Someone who knows Him can exercise greater faith in Him, than those who are separated from Him in ignorance. Great knowledge produces great faith, which produces great ACTION. Repeated action, aligned with correct knowledge, produces POWER. Faith is the principle motivation of ACTION and POWER in all intelligent beings, including God. POWER is tied to “unwavering faith,” the kind of faith sufficient to move mountains, to command a tree to grow in the middle of the ocean and it will grow, to part the waters, or walk on water, and to raise the dead. The enemy to faith is fear, and Hypocrisy is the camouflage of fear, so that justifications cloak the truth, allowing fear to grow, eroding faith, until you know nothing of the mysteries of God. Ignorance of the mysteries of God is referred to by Alma as “the chains of hell” (Alma 12:10-11). Exercising faith requires action aligned with belief, otherwise it is Hypocrisy. And Hypocrisy stunts faith. Do as you claim you believe, know God, receive the mysteries in full, obtain eternal life.

Sincerity indicates a pure heart, while ulterior motives express Guile. The Lord expects an offering from all who claim to be His followers: a broken heart and contrite spirit. Guile mimics the symptoms of a broken heart and contrite spirit, to deceive, by wearing a sad countenance, or sheep’s clothing, when the heart is really hard and obstinate, and within hides a ravenous wolf. Guile is used to trick people with logic and reasoning to control and produce reactions, keeping men trapped in ignorance. Anti-christs like Nehor and Korihor use it. Today, politicians use Guile all the time. Marketers do too. They make bad look good and good seem evil, as Isaiah prophesied they would. Guile makes Satan’s methods so appealing that 1/3 of the hosts of heaven fell and were cast down with him. Anyone claiming a scary, ugly, unappealing person as Satan, is ignorant of his attribute of Guile.

To be without Hypocrisy and Guile is to align your actions with your understanding of God, and sincerely seek more.

Conclusion: Go to the light. The large and spacious building is well populated with Hypocrites who say, but don’t do. They mock and cast people out when they aren’t Hypocrites like them. They scoff and scorn, using peer pressure to influence, rather than  pure knowledge that greatly enlarges the soul. When ignorance cannot penetrate those who know Christ, those in the large and spacious building use Guile to deceptively re-label and re-package truth to make ignorance justified. They say “Don’t worry about how much you know the scriptures, that’s for the scholars.” “Don’t worry about the history, the whole truth has nothing to offer. Stick to what we say the truth is.” “Just keep your eye on us, and forget about the many large and spacious buildings we own, and draw billions of dollars of revenues from annually, while the Hawaiians are incarcerated in their cell of ignorance, bondage, and captivity.”

Try flipping that argument around. Where is my large and spacious building? Where are my crowds of mockers, casting people out? Where is my re-labeling and re-packeging of the truth and the history? Where are my lawyers hiding my sources of revenue, my office towers, my shopping mall revenues, etc.?

I do all I can to act as I know, and sincerely seek to know more (not only to say, but to actually do the seeking to know more). You have been a witness of my fruits, having read here and conversed in person, to witness the light that I have added to the subject of the scriptures. I am not a Hypocrite and there is no Guile in me. I do as I say I’m gonna do, and what you see is what you get with me. I don’t hide my history, I own it, account for it, and place it on the altar of the atonement for it to burn by the quenching heat of the fire, …the light. What remains after the burning is more light in me. I live as I believe, and for that I will take what comes with it, offering up my all, …even my good name.

Key of Knowledge (926 Words)

Godliness is to be near God, and the power of Godliness is to know God, thus God is the Key of Knowledge. False teachers fail to come to God, stand in the way of others approaching God, fearing their own failure, and proclaiming a corrupt message. Eternal life is to know God.

Those who are near God are Godly. To be in the presence of God requires nothing less than Godliness, otherwise His presence alone is sufficient for the ungodly to wish the mountains would cover them in their guilt and shame. The Savior has provided a way for all to be Godly, while in the flesh. He offers the Key of Knowledge. He offers the Holy Ghost, which gives access to the mind and will of God.

Moses 6:61

“61. Therefore it is given to abide in you; the record of heaven; the Comforter; the peaceable things of immortal glory; the truth of all things; that which quickeneth all things, which maketh alive all things; that which knoweth all things, and hath all power according to wisdom, mercy, truth, justice, and judgment.”

The power of Godliness is to know God. Having been near God, an individual comes to know God, and from that knowledge they can act in confidence that what they are doing is pleasing to the God that they know. It is through confidence that power is produced.

If someone were to tell me that they’re sure that they saw Dad dancing on the streets of Waikiki, I would know that they got the wrong Dad. However, if someone reported that they saw Dad at a home improvement show, a lumber yard, a construction site, a chicken feed store, a laundry supply house, or a green house, the certainty that they were talking about our Dad is high. And if they claimed seeing him at all of those places, I have extreme confidence that they knew who I was, and knew who my Dad is. Likewise Godliness is to be near to God, and the power of Godliness is to know God. What matters most is the Key of Knowledge.

False teachers are described in Luke:

Luke 11:52

“52. Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the Key of Knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.”

False teachers have never experienced what they try teaching. Luke is clear that false teachers haven’t entered into the heavens themselves, and when they see people trying to do what they’ve failed to do, false teachers stand in the way of those that were in fact entering in. They remove Key of Knowledge. They prevent salvation and redemption, discouraging those who are working at returning into the presence of the Lord while in the flesh. They proclaim a corrupted message, even the philosophies of men, mingled with scriptures. And they are certain that it cannot happen, because they’ve never had it happen to them. In their ignorance they establish rules, corporate standards, uniformity, and massive marketing campaigns, to justify their ignorance, and they label it a “House of Order.” When they make their claims, they do it in Christ’s name, taking His name in vain. It is all in vain, if you fail to actually know God and Christ.

Ignore the ignorant, and keep seeking His face in the flesh. Those who are wise will not respect the lie intended to deceive true disciples to stop seeking after Christ. Instead, they will awake and arise by studying the words of Christ, to know God.

John 17:3

“3. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

Conclusion: Knowing God and Christ is the only way to eternal life. It doesn’t matter how many apostles you know, how many scriptures you memorized and can recite, or how many months of consecutive visit/home teaching you have done in your life. It doesn’t matter how many names you have gathered, and done ordinances for, none of it matters if all you have is ignorance. Sealing yourselves to the ignorant dead, is sealing yourselves to the damned. However, when you have knowledge, then you have value to your dead, and you can be a savior on mount Zion.

When you have the Key of Knowledge, what you have is the power of Godliness, and you are Godlike. The Holy Ghost is offered to those who will receive it, to make men and women more Godlike. The beatitudes say blessed are… or Godlike is… and instructions are given there, to assist those who sincerely seek Christ to become Godlike. When you have been redeemed, and brought back into the presence of God, then you are Godly, and have the power of Godliness, and can testify that you do know, not merely believing, who Christ and God is. Then you can save your kindred dead by teaching them about the God that you know.

Don’t be mad because the gospel doesn’t work from your vantage point as an LDS, following traditions of men that have kept you outside of the presence of the Lord in the flesh. Repent, simply turn around, be humble and don’t grumble. Just search the words of Christ so that you can be reconnected to the Key of Knowledge. It will not only give you an advantage now, it will be to your benefit in the life to come. Don’t let the fear of man stop you from Knowing God and Christ. Once you know them, then will your confidence wax strong.
